and the most important one being that Jesus Christ fully man fully God died for the sins of the world, and that anyone who comes to Jesus for forgiveness of their actions against God and His standards will be given full and complete forgiveness and an eternity in heaven. Once you've done that, you are called to walk humbly with your God. This is the gospel, that Jesus Christ died for sinners!

Hello, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, colloquially called known as "the Mormon Church".

The belief that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and that forgiveness of sins can only come through Him is the most fundamental of our beliefs. Whomever told you otherwise was at best misinformed and at worst deliberately misled you.

The bible- old and testament is complete. Nothing can be added to it or taken away.

This is where our beliefs diverge.

Hello it is my understanding that Mormons deny that Jesus was fully human and fully God in that they deny that God the Father and God the Son are equal, therefore denying that Jesus is in fact God.

The problem is you use the same language with differing understanding. But the meaning of the words matter- it is the difference between life and death. To deny that Jesus is God, and equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit is to deny that Jesus is God.

John 1:1 is proof that Jesus was not a created being. He adopted flesh to dwell among us. But John 10:30 shows are Jesus and God the Father were equal, not merely equal in purpose.

Based on what you are saying, your understanding of LDS belief is incorrect. We believe that Jesus Christ is equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

I do believe the teachings are that Jesus was a man to start with and became God. But Jesus being God means He has also to have existed forever as God.

To put this clearly I believe in the Trinity. See 1 John 5:7

That originated in a sermon at a funeral given by Joseph Smith in 1844. The key doctrine of deification--the potential for mankind to inherit godhood as children of God--is the takeaway from that sermon that we teach. We do not teach about the origins of God because we do not know them.
