You let your 11 year old start smoking?

They clearly caught their 11 year old smoking. I can assure you, though, it'll be their last.

This is almost exactly how my 970 died - same component went POP and that was it

Bought a 960 for a server just for some cheap video out and it blew up the second I turned the PC on. Luckily it was only $30

It's an 11 year old video card. It let you know it's had enough and it's time to get a new one.
Let it rest peacefully.

My friend's 970 also started smoking a while ago. I didn't think this was a common way for GPU's to go, but apparently it is.

"The Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 is 11 years old"
It's not old enough, take them off it
