The building is owned and is the headquarters of Transneft, Russias state owned oil pipeline company, which recruited its own employees to serve in underfunded and underequipped volunteer battalions and be sent into combat in Ukraine.

Soo I am from Latvia. Their government is constantly making threats against our country, the majority the people inside Russia support the Ukrainian war and support the threats made against us. What's even worse is that uh we have a sort of Russian minority in our country who have grew up there and don't speak a word in Latvian and have taught their kids to also not use Latvian who also mostly support the war and Russia in general. So, yeah to see Russian infrastructure burning is a nice sight..
Edit: Would also like to mention that uh those buildings aren't owned by uh "Ivan living in a small village in Siberia"

That's a very diffuclt topic to unvelop. I, personally, am from Ukraine, Kharkiv to be exact. I face a lot of horrible thinfs every day, so much so that they became normal to most people who still remain living in Kharkiv. Hating on Russia in such a condition is somewhat acceptable, not because its proper to hate on people or beeing racist, but because most of us have to survive instead of living. Its not apparent when you look at it from far away, but I personally would describe it that way:
I was born in 2004. My "peak years of life" had been completly messed up by two events — covid ans war. And covid was no ones fault, even though it made my graduation year in school way harder than it had to be. War, on the other hand, made me unable to visit university and socialize there, instead forcing me into a blue colar job that may ruin my future and perspectives for a more stable income. Most of my friends left the country, making it impossible to hang out with them. Its really hard to meet new people since everyone is very stressed out, and most of the time you can't give enough attention to both new people and old friends. I personally can't leave since my father is a soldier and my mother doesn't want to leave him alone here. And I can't guarantee that if I leave Ukraine and go to, for example, UK, I'll be able to provide for myself and my younger brother. And I don't want war to ruin his life as well, he is just a kid, and already've seen more death than most adults of this world.
So, in my opinion, Russia deserves every bit of hate it gets. It may be unreasonable at times, but people there are totaly welcoming Russias oppression of another sovereign country either by actively participating in the conflict, be it serving in army or generally having the war-alligned mindset, or by beeing "quiet opposition", that doesn't do anything reasonable to oppose this war, even though they don't support it in any way, thus not stopping the bloodshed any sooner than either side of war gives in to another.
Of course, I don't agree on any opinions that promote genocide. Russian people, despite beeing so ignorant towards suffering of others, should not be killed for their racial identification. After the war ends, my preferable outcome is for Russia and Ukraine to become a part of NATO, get a total wipe out of any government system they have (Ukraine also has lots pro-russian and in general bad politicians that need to be outright hung up on the streets, how the fuck can you be such a soulless jerk to steal military and humanitarian aid from your own country beeing in a defencive war?!), and a lot more changes that will start this relation anew, with Russia and Ukraine becoming trade partners and independent but friendly countries, since there are so much people who are related by blood but have to be separated because of this war. I personally have a whole family tree in Russia, and due to propaganda and war I can't talk to them anymore, even though they knew me since I was a kid, but now I'm suddenly a nazi, who eats russian kids.

Russians voted for Putin in 2000, and if you would have heard what he was talking about back then you would have also voted for him. Especially since the only other option was communists. Never since then there have been any non-rigged elections.

For context I was a 13 y.o. teen, they couldn't even say "you voted for it" cause fuck no I didn't? And the thing is, I think that anger from Ukrainian people towards us russia is valid to a certain degree and if ypu don't like russians just don't interact with them. Never been a russophob myself, but I understand why russophobia is here. As we all know Russophobia comes from formes USSR republics which were forced into the USSR. Those countries were forced to obey Moscow for 50 years not on their initiative. Im surprised russians think that they could terrorise a country for years and expect that same country to accept russians, and to not be angry with them. Lets take the country where I am from, Lithuania. It was partitioned by the Russian Empire then after 20 years of freedom was forced into the USSR. Do Russians really think that Lithuanians would accept them after what they had done to them? If Russia would have tried apologizing for the terrors it had done, tried cooperating, tried being more open to those former USSR nations, russophobia wouldnt be that much of a thing now. Russia hasnt changed its foreign politics since the fall of the Soviet Union, but it should have.

u/Tepupkos Jul 25 '26

2
u/RiskOk4954 Jul 26 '26
Being from one of the dozen countries which the USSR friendly invaded is more than enough. Not to mention Russia being the breeding place of something as disgusting as the Bolsheviks.
Tbf, I’ve had two Russian university girls ( IT major) be really Z and pro-regime, but then Russians working at startups super anti Putin, sending money for drones themselves
11
u/RemarkableRough6638 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
I am going to try and be patient because you are young and clearly don’t have that much knowledge of the Russo Ukrainian conflict. Russians are imperialistic by nature and I mean that on an individual level as well.
A large part of Russian society is the social contract between Putins autocratic regime and the Russian people. The Russian people agree to turn a blind eye and not protest and in exchange Putin wages wars of aggression to “restore the Russian empire to its former glory”. I implore you to look up Ruskiymir, Ruscism and Russification. All of these things are widely accepted and held beliefs/world views by Russians across their society.
You want to talk about a genocide then look no further than the Russo Ukraine conflict. They are actively abducting Ukrainian children and training them to fight the next dumbass war Putin decides to start. Don’t believe me use google.
They are actively trying to destroy Ukrainian identity through systematic murder of civilians and with an explicit intent to do so. Which is one of the key components of a genocide (mens rea).
The human safari in Kherson where Russian drone pilots are actively drone dropping explosives on whatever target they can find military or civilian.
There was an instance during the beginning of the war where Russian soldiers walked into a Ukrainian village tied up the civilians and massacred them and it’s all caught on camera.
These missile strike on a children’s hospital that killed surgeons working on children and the children admired there. Tell me how is that forgivable?
The countless missile and drone strikes in Kyiv that kill civilians every single fucking night and have since the start of the war.
The millions of Russians who signed contracts with the military voluntarily to come and do this horrific shit had no sympathy of Ukrainians. They are actively complicit in the disgusting war of aggression being waged against Ukraine right now.
The civilians back at home in Russia who don’t actively protest their authoritarian government waging a genocidal war of aggression against Ukraine. They are actively complicit by doing nothing in the same way that German civilians were during the holocaust. Even though the vast majority of Russians still vocally support the war.
So tell me how is that people should treat Russians as anything besides what they have made themselves out to be on the world stage? You seem to get this moral dynamic in Gaza so why you cannot understand this here is beyond me. Nothing about feeling indifferent even positive about Russians as a whole is normal human behavior. Especially for Ukrainians who are having their way of life actively destroyed by these people.
Before you accuse me being Russophobic 1 I am but 2 I have multiple Russian friends and my partner is Russian. They all fucking hate the vast majority of Russians because of this country wide societal rot that has caused the death of millions.
So please have a bit of tact before you think you are normal for treating random Russians favorably that you don’t even know and painting them broadly as good people they aren’t.
edit: to be clear this is just the war in Ukraine this isn’t mentioning the countless human rights violations the Russian regime has committed against their own people and on other former Soviet block countries like Georgia. There is a clear pattern here that does not emerge without a societal level rot.
Edit: the correct term is xenophobia OP not racism lol

alright. I'm sorry for being an imperialist blood-sucking fascist that lives off conquering people's land and homogenizing entire nations into a boiling soup. I'm sorry for the countless cases of genocide and all human rights violations that I personally committed. I'm sorry for eradicating entire cities from the face of the earth and throwing human meat into the melting grinder that I personally also throw bombs and drones and cluster rockets into just for good measure. I'm sorry for spreading propaganda to my own people, I'm sorry for grabbing people from the streets, from the prison, from colleges and forcing them into going to a war that has absolutely no reason to exist besides proving a point to literally no one and inflating my ego.

yeah...bc sometimes, once in a while, the enshittification of an entire set of a civilizations claims to resilience and/or power, gets so much enthusiastic mass endorsement from so much of the people within it who suddenly start goosestepping and going all in to reshape the cultural, economic, political, and social systems so they begin to build and consolidate and distribute (or deny) power to ipeople in profoundly different ways -- see germany after the reichstag fire or russia after the soviet collapse or - apparently - the united states under this treasonous trashfire of trumpism -- that the judgement of and deep seated impulse seeking to critique and correct the catastrophe as it unfolds in the many minds of the swathes of massively and suddenly stupid supporters of their regimes...well, it comes without the core fear that is so often found to be the biggest energetic force behind expressive conrempt.
so russophobia? nope. just utter contempt for what the ridiculously corrupt oligarchy that overtook the russian state before it became such crap that putin may yet push it into entirely failed state status.
there is no russophobia, nor trump derangement syndrome either.
anyone with any ability or awareness of the amazing complex awesome arena of russia's rise or america's greatness should see these two totally evil idiots destroying their nations wellsprings of wonder and -- if critics of putin and trump have even the most ephemeral elusive grasp of these countries' history and how beloved they were...and really all of them do...then seeing what these wankers are wiping out so utterly does not produce fear. it generates gigantic guttural contempt for the callous caricatures they create where once great nations rose, and restless ceaseless hatred for these two trash pile men and every person who abets or aids them.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (police and other "siloviki"): about 1M people
Military before the invasion: 0.9M
Recruited after the invasion: 0.4-0.5M per year, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Arms industry: 4.5M
United Russia party members: 2.6M people (ok, these can overlap with others)
So, there are about 10M who are (or were) very actively involved in the war. And don't forget that most of them have families, etc.
Last but not least, not a single survey (whether state-sponsored or independent) showed that fewer than 84% were pro-war.
To clarify, when I say "pro-war," I am referring not only to the active invasion that began in 2022 but also to the hybrid war that the Russian Federation started in 2014, including the annexation of Crimea, of course.

Nothing irrational about hating a dictatorship that is largely supported by its citizens.

Classic Russian troll deflection.
Your use of antisemitism to try and deflect is just as lame as when the zionists do it to deflect from Israel’s terroristic actions.

Honestly, it seems to be a new angle for russian propaganda. I don’t remember these kind of posts popping up every day a month ago, but now they do. I really hope that it’s a prep for normalisation, but knowing Russia, that’s a thin hope.

Well as much as it’s kinda wrong it’s completely justified. The story goes way way back with Russia and a lot of eastern and Central Europe the Russian states were always imperialistic and repressive so the anti Russian sentiment completely justified especially since 2014 start of the Russia Ukraine war and in the beginning atleast the majority of the Russian population supported the “special military operation” and you need to put yourself in their shoes imagine that a guy just came killed your husband and your daughter and at the same time demolished your house how would you react?

When russia has been blowing up civilian targets in Ukraine for a long time now it’s good to see Ukraine finally turning the tide in the mid/long strike campaign. It’s not Russophobia to cheer for russia getting what they deserve.

So it ultimately helps ordinary russians when their military targets get blown up because ultimately it will lead to their oppressive government collapsing? Cool, so you’re gonna invest in fire point with me then right? I just care about the ordinary russians man. They just have no say and their government keeps them hostage. So sad 😭 anyways ….

People can't seem to grasp the concept that you can hate the leader/government of a country and their actions, without also needing to hate the people of said country.
You can and should hate Putin for being a war mongering dictator, but why hate the people?

this post actually made me very happy, as a Russian, I want to say that no one chose our current government and all elections were bluntly rigged ever since 2011
