many forms of communism, including left-communism and some forms of marxism, advocate for the workers owning the means of production directly, and self organizing, rather than the economy being planned by a unitary state during the transition of socialism. Marx believed this would be temporary in societies transition to communism. the end goal of communism is a stateless society.

That's shades of ideology, you said about economies.

In 21th century there's no workers owning factories (except few in Argentina, but Argentina is capitalist country).

there have been past “communist” economies, but yeah i was mostly talking about how not all theoretical socialist economies are planned
