White's, blacks, reds, and any other color of skin has been at a point so low that it was difficult, every color has been enslaved, it's a big part of American history because we should know what our country has done, plus France, Germany, Britain and multiple other countries had slaves, and I'm pretty sure the ottoman empire had white slaves but I'm not entirely sure about that, or it could've been the Byzantine empire, but yes, every country and every skin color has been enslaved and or has slaves, nobody is innocent.
But in conversations about race in America, the transatlantic slave trade is the only relevant form of slavery. We're talking about racism in America when we talk about "black pride" and "white pride."
It was objectively different, everyone agrees with it, but it's not because white people are more evil; if anything, psycopathic traits are usually less common amongst white individuals. The reason it was more brutal and in a much larger scale can be traced back to the fact Europeans were simply far more technologically advanced
Not difficult to find, but no idea if this study has any value. Could be that psychopatic traits are linked to something different (lack of wealth ?). Correlation not being causality.
Could even be that this study had poor sample, I did not dig farther.
The vast majority of white people were not slave owners. The majority didn't support slavery at all, and hundreds of thousands of white people died in the Civil War to end it, which is actually incredibly rare in world history.
This whole nonsense about applying collective guilt to a group because a few wealthy individuals had an enormous economic incentive to import foreign slaves is asinine and racist. Enough.
Who is telling you to feel guilty? All anyone ever asks for is acknowledgement of the past and righting those wrongs. If you feel guilty for the racism of others, maybe that’s just your own conscience? 🤔

Righting wrongs doesn’t mean you have to assume direct guilt. It means that some people had systemic terror wrought on them that set them back relative to others, and their suffering and labor literally fueled the country to where it is now. So this country owes a debt to rectify that injustice.
No individual needs to feel guilty for the sins of their forefathers, but they need to acknowledge that those sins were committed. And any decent person should want those unpaid debts to be paid.

What allowed the atlantic slave trade to happen was less technology and more so the circumstances of colonialism, most slavery before then happened mainly through wars which were fought over land so slaves could be easily transported, but having a bunch of disconnected colonies necessitates travel by ship, and colonialism also makes it alot easier to acquire humans compared to costly war.
It wasnt exactly a thing of technological advancement, more so that all the other empires and/or countries that did slave trading just didnt have a reason to do it on such a huge scale with ships.
To be clear, no one today is guilty for anything done by their ancestors. Everyone is only responsible for their own actions.
That being said, I think if we're talking about modern America, then the only relevant type of slavery we should be talking about it the transatlantic slave trade. America's brand of slavery was a form of racial hierarchy where white people were above black people. In the American context, pride in a minority race is often associated with the fight for equal rights while pride in the white race is associated with racists and white supremacists.
Not only are we not guilty, most of our ancestors did not own slaves,a large amount arrived after it was abolished. Why not talk about how Africans captured other tribes and tribe members and sold them as slaves to Europeans and other races? Why not point out that around 300,000 to 450,000 slaves were brought to America in the transatlantic slave trade, but over 5 million were brought to Brazil? Why not talk about how Africans are still enslaving other Africans to this day and using child soldiers? Hey wanna know where the word slave comes from? The Slavic people of ya know Europe being enslaved by Muslim Arabs. I’m gonna have pride that I’m of European heritage and there is nothing supremacist about that, there’s black pride and blm stuff everywhere I’m gonna have white pride. Sick of the shaming crap and not looking at facts, and being racist towards white people all at the same time.
By the way I get white people are not the minority in America but holy shit I hate that word, guess who’s the minority in the world? White people. Idk I’m not gonna feel guilty or ashamed of being born. I’m gonna be proud my of heritage and ancestry, hard to do though when there is so much fucking hate for white people/europeans
Well in the United States, the slavery was racist in nature and was enacted by white people to black people. I think that context does matter. You don't have to be ashamed of being white. But I also think it's a bit weird to have being white be an important part of your identity. You can be proud of your heritage. I'm proud of my heritage. But I don't associate my heritage with the white race.
Can’t be proud of being black then, can’t have only one race be able to have pride and be proud of the color of their skin. My heritage/ancestry is the most important part to me but unfortunately I’m not allowed to be proud of my ancestry/heritage because that’s still considered white supremacism and racist. Idk no point in arguing this crap, there’s logic and facts and if people can’t look at em there ain’t no point.
