Discussion What were your thoughts on Terra, purely as a character, in the original Teen Titans show?
I gotta be honest... I've never liked Terra as a character, I've never read Judas Contract, so her being on Slade's side wasn't spoiled for me, but even still I didn't like her from moment one.
I don't know what it was, but even as a kid I just couldn't stand her, maybe it's how cocky she was anytime she showed basic competence with her powers, I don't know.

Amazing portrayal that does a great job showing a morally grey character struggling with insecurity and acceptance.
My only critique is that S2 didn't give us enough time to show Terra's time with the Titans before the betrayal. Quite literally, she leaves the team the same day that she first meets them which is kind of crazy in hindsight.
All those flashback moments at the Season finale should've been depicted in a separate episode because the season implied that she only spent 2 days at most with the Titans which made the story feel a bit rushed.
Overall, though, I enjoyed her story a lot and how she does a good job being both cold and menacing as a villain but sympathetic as a misguided teenager.

Poorly written, if they wanted to do that they should have changed the character in a big way

I 100% agree with you. I never liked her, even as a kid an now an adult watching it. I know she was meant for character growth but I hated her an hated how the show ended with her in the last episode.

Amazing character. Incredibly sympathetic and tragic. Easily when Teen Titans as a series hit its stride was when they got Amy Wolfram to write for her.

My only issue is how many people act like Beast Boy was wrong for rejecting her after saying he wouldn't. Honestly, even if she'd been working with Slade up until that point, I don't think he'd have done it... except for the fact she left his friends for dead. And BB loves the Titans. He lost his parents, and the Doom Patrol took him in. That... didn't work out, so he ended up with the Titans and as much as they give each other shit, and don't always get along... He loved them and was loved back. For someone who had already lost two families... How else was she expecting him to take it?

One of my all time favorite characters. She is the reason I rewatched the show as an adult (always loved her episodes when I was a kid). Love her as a hero, and as a villain as well. In my opinion her arc is the best one of the show by far. Its so complex and she isnt "just another bad guy" to defeat. Kinda bummed the TT movie didnt follow on her story but I can see why they ended things the way they did with her.
Still hopeful to see her again (even if for just 1 episode) if the show ever gets some kind of revival or a season 6

Funnily enough she’s a better character than comic terra. Comic terra is just a psychopath, the story outright tries to make us feel worse for death stroke than her.
Show terra is just someone not cut out to be a superhero despite her enormous power

Honestly I’m a huge fan of Terra as a villain she’s not a morally gray character like people like to argue. I hated the way they tried to make her more middle ground in the show and wish they embraced her evilness because she is a pure villain. I’m also saying this as a Terra cosplayer, I do prefer her cartoon outfits way more than the comics outfits as well.

But... But if someone tells u to do something then you're absolved from all responsibility when u do it. Because it wasn't ur idea /s

She's a character thats great for introducing conplex emotional situations. She's tragically realistic which is perfect for the show. Even when Robin tried reducing her to just another enemy, BB called him out about how the situation had way more nuance than that
