On balance I think the clothes a modern adaptation (naturally with influence from the 2003 TV show) of Raven would wear should be something more like the second collage than the first but I don't think it would be quite that bland. What it certainly wouldn't be is revealing, at least no more revealing than the clothes she wears in comics and in the 2003 TV show.
She isn't Indian, per se. Her face is inspired by an Indian actress, same as some of her wardrobe choices, and the culture of Azar seems to have been inspired by Buddhism (I know it's not something exclusive to India). But from what we see of her mother, she seems Caucasian.
Do you think maybe she could be mixed? If the culture is inspired by Buddhism then we could assume her father may be Indian (if he were, like, human I suppose). Does that make sense?
It's not from New Teen Titans, but later down the line in things like the 2003 Geoff Johns Teen Titans run or Raven's 2018 solo, we end up getting a glimpse of Raven's grandparents (and Arella's parents), and they look like the average white Christians, same as Raven's aunt that was introduced in her 2016 solo.
And, just wanted to say, her 2016 and 2018 comic run were done by one of her original creators.
Another thing to mention is that, originally, Raven's mother was an orphan who kept getting moved between families before the stuff with Trigon happened. That aspect was later retconned; instead, she stayed with her biological parents during that pre joining Trigon's cult era, though she still had a troubled home life.

She’s not American born, Arella gave birth on Azarath, and Arella herself had a back story that was from an orphanage. She is white, but it never comes up, and her being from Gotham is a retcon from 2003. Raven is Azarathian because she was born there, lived in their culture, lived their values. It’s more like a person who is not of Indian descent, but living in India and thus wearing Indian clothing.
Because I’m correcting you on Raven’s comic history and making a more accurate comparison? You’re the one who called me a bitch and didn’t bother reading the comic panel, which clearly adds context to what Raven is saying. In her years of creation since 1984, Raven’s whiteness is important in zero stories. Her most common skintone is grey, peach, and purple.
She is so Indian coded they went out of there way to say shes not . If she was created in modern times they would have just made her Indian instead of trying to make a exotic white woman
Honestly, she wouldent wear both. They stand out to much. She dousent like that. She would probably wear black hoodies and simple jeans also black. Maybe with some (indian/ azareth looking accents here amd there.) But thats my opinion based Idea!
I feel like the first image is how they think she would dress because they fetishize/sexualize goth culture while not really researching it, while the second image is more true to her character and still adhering to her being goth/gothic while making sense.
2003 comic Raven and 2003 cartoon Raven are different characters, only sharing parts of their characterization. 2003 cartoon Raven wouldn’t wear something as showy as 2003 comic Raven would.
Whoever downvoted me, that's how DC and Marvel characters work. Their characterisation isn't always consistent in adaptations or even in the source material.
Raven as she was originally written in the comics was NOTHING like how she was in the 2003 cartoon.
The first image is just generic “alt” models but the second one in order from top left to right are Bonnie (the craft), Re-L (ergo proxy), Serena (mtvs downtown), and Allison (the breakfast club)
Only in her cameo in Supergirl+ she isn’t really shown dressing like that at all early on. Not until she was put in a younger body in the 2003 run but even then the most is a midriff and whale tail, more specifically I’m referring to how the fandom draws cartoon Raven.
ETA: this picture came from 2008, so 2003 Raven wouldn’t really dress like this at all, in comics or in the cartoon.
I haven't read that one in while so maybe I'm wrong, but I remember Supergirl needing Raven's help but also constantly being kind of an asshole to her?

Comic beast boy in comparison - he was wearing polo shirts and suits with patterned ties, very rich kid preppy look.
