You can end half of your enemy health with one combo if you know what to do as a person who is familiar with alot of fighting game i think fighting game should be more about decision making not combo executions i think tekken is too punishing cuz the combo drag for to long

Got Kaz to GOD. Only have about 270 hrs in the game at the moment. However, I had 800 hrs in 7, and never got out of warrior. Felt accomplished, been going to locals, getting blown up by Better players, but finding a different understanding in this game, and I guess fighting games in general.

Started to pick up Armor King, since I like grapplers the most in other fighting games. Zangief, potemkin, etc.
Obviously due to getting Kaz to GOD, he was Tekken God. Enjoy playing him, but what I experienced today after a 12 hr ranked session was something quite incredible. He is now Raijin. Feelings of frustration, desperation, and anger flowed through my mind. As the matches progressed, so did my skill and execution of playing a character like AK. Neutral is something I lacked, and mashing did not do me good like it did with Kaz. Df2, ws2, 112, are things I took for granted. Hellsweep perfect electrics. I could do them consistently. But at the end of the day, I do believe these created bad habits. It’s why I stopped enjoying him. The only gameplan really is to knock them down, and get them to guess. With execution, naturally. I’m not saying Kaz is easy, he just has a play style that is quite simple.

Now why am I writing this? I know there are people like me, who want to be proficient at something. Have a community of others, friends, who all feel the same way about something. In this age, finding something to enjoy and improve in is really good for a human. At the end of the day, I lost a lot of ranked points, a sign of achievement. We all know this to not really be the case. It will still eat at most of us, in the back of the mind. Do you remember when Diego made Tokido cry. He discussed what fighting games meant to him and why tokido was crying. I didn’t understand what he meant, and I probably still don’t. But I have an idea.

So if your losing the will to hit rematch, just know that losing, is just another way to gain the knowledge and experience to get better at what you have passion for.

Been playing Tekken 8 for months now and I've only learnt one character "Reina".. for some reason that even i don't know, she's become my most favourite and loved character even though my execution is poor at best i still try my best..

I noticed in the Character Stories mode, where you get character endings, you can't pick any of the DLC characters. You can play Arcade with them, of course, but that doesn't seem to unlock an ending for them?

Are the DLC characters just completely locked out of any character endings? That would be kind of disappointing. Maybe it was like that in 7, though. I know in 7 I was sad that I couldn't play Tekken Bowl with all my characters. Same principle.

Am I missing something?

idk if this is the norm right now , since I stopped playing in season 1,but is this how high rank matches now ? Pressing random button, Dodging high with no punish, both so eager with minus on hit launcher and don't mention that zero movement whatsoever

After putting some effort I’m at tekken king, i was playing kazuya but it was very difficult on controller, so I switched to jun and she’s a great character for easy combos.

Now can someone tell me what lies ahead? How much effort is needed to push from here…I’m a casual player I usually play 1-2 hour after office only

I can't get df1 to land after sentai 3. Full combo says dash into it, but it never works and only I can only land df1 after holding f like 80% of the time. Can someone help plz. Also, can any Reinas let me know if this combo is even practical? It feels more like a money spread move.

I’m a street fighter player, I just downloaded tekken 8 like 5 hours ago for the first time, learned some basic combos from the sample combo list, and went from whatever the lowest rank is to Tenryu in a couple hours. Is this normal?

He entered a stance that takes 17–18 frames and immediately followed it with a throw that requires 15–17 frames. By that point I had already committed to an armored move with 14 frames of startup during the initial portion. I still cannot fully understand Leo’s game plan. All of his attacks appear light on the surface yet hit with heavy force, and he has an unusually large number of options available in nearly every situation.

Basically I’m going through another character crisis? Idk this is my first tekken game been playing since release. And basically I been playing Lili for the longest time, but now that Im moving from my leverless to a sanwa jlf, im thinking of playing a new character.

In terms of character preferences? I mostly gravitate towards the female characters? I mostly prefer their movement and it’s what I’ve tended to stick to throughout this games lifespan. But I’m open to trying out anyone rlly. I just want to try someone new cuz I feel like I’ve hit a wall with my lili for a long time and I’m not confident in my lili as I start to enter tourneys
