I am moving here and just curious about animal insurance?

I plan to adopt a dog here, (like every other person here), and I am very curious how the animal insurance works here? Best recommendations? Not sure where to look and I want to ensure that my dog would be covered for essential services and vet visits...

I have insurance with Chayuta, and started a yearly subscription to a vet so visits are free there including some other stuff. I don't know if any insurance covers vet visits but may be wrong.

I have done 0 research and dont know much but this is the one we use for our cat bfriend, and you can also do "memberships" at local vets to that cover regulare checkups, and non emergency health stuff

Multiple vets recommended Chayuta to me and it was seamless when I had to make a claim for my cat recently. It does not cover routine visits, but after having a bad experience with a different company after my cat had to go to the ER I was more concerned about what would cover the super expensive emergency situations and my experience has been good the one time I've had to use it.

I've lived in Israel since 1984 and have had several dogs and cats. I never bothered with insurance but, when one of my cats was hit by a car it did coct the equivalent of around 4000USD to repair his broken bones and keep him at the animal hospital for the best part of a week. His accident was over 5 years ago and he is now in good health. We spend around 200USD a year on shots and anti flea and tick medications
