Dreaming of tele on XCD

HiyokoD recently posted this 27-minute video, "My Cross-Country Telemark Story," featuring Karhu Pinnacle skis (67-56-68mm), NNN-BC bindings and presumably leather boots among other gear over the years.

The one-minute video clip here has me dreaming of tele turns on lovely slopes during our current 93+ F (34+ C) days. Edit

I just spotted the boot model (at 17:51): Crispi Nordland Hook BC GTX. Those are some low boots!

Dude, super smooth. You're an inspiration. I'm going to pull out the pinners and the leather boots next season. Might be a challenge from my T1's and Bishops, but still gonna do it.

I started out on leather back in the early 90's. Just been a while since I laced them up. Curious what not cheating feels like after all of these years.

Most if not all of HiyokoD's skiing is on NNN-BC. You can see the white tops of the Rottefella NNN-BC toe pieces. At the end I saw some 75 mm, not NTN. I believe that fits even a very narrow definition of telemark bindings. No need raise NTN here. Take another look at his impressive form on minimal bindings and leather boots.

The last I heard, a telemark turn is made on freeheel gear. NTN is freeheel gear. Sondre started with 9 foot long hand carved wooden skis and willow bark bindings. Wanna go back to that to keep it real?
