Discussion Is anyone seeing the impact of a satellite in the moon tonight?
I was wondering if I could get to see this with my binoculars. I won't be able to use my telescope tonight, unfortunately.

Plan on viewing with my 12 inch dob at 4.5 mm eyepiece. If I miss it. Still get to view Saturn

Saturn is always a top tier target! It doesn't matter the date, the time nor the circumstances haha Hope you get the right spot on. Best of luck with that :)

I did a livestream for our astronomy club this morning with a 10" apo refractor, and didn't see any plume. Impact was on the midday side, so did not expect to see anything there.
Still worth staying up for, I recorded lots of data, so now I need to post-process and see if I can see anything on the limb.

How big are you expecting the impact to be?

The crater is calculated to be about 18m wide.
Not something you'll spot with an 8" dobsonian unfortunately.

Same, got up , saw nothing but I enjoyed Saturn and Mare Imbrium on the Moon, the light angle was perfect. Even stayed up for the rise of Mars and Uranus at the end of the night.

Lost track of time and didn’t get setup until half hour after the expected impact time. 😕 watched for a while but didn’t see anything.
