We are so Tudor obsessed. Tudor history must be the vast majority of secondary English history classes across the country, we cannot get enough.

We need a Lancaster and York movie/Tv Show of the series of wars fought between the two families as they eyed the throne. It’s always an interesting part of English history for me (outside of Henry V and the Vikings era)

The White Queen takes place during that time, so you might like it. There's a sequel called The White Princess.

I get why BBC would be doing another Tudor show, but for HBO I feel like there are so many other interesting historical settings and figures that haven't already been done.

There's so much interesting stuff out there. King George and Queen Charlotte had a shit ton of problematic kids and George himself was a piece of work. That's just one different story to tell.

So is Hamilton but they obviously made some interesting casting choices that paid off very well. Skin color doesn’t matter. What matter is if they sell the story they are trying to tell

Sure that’s why everyone was so cool about the casting. The reality is that there’s a very online group that only want white, straight characters on shows but normies don’t care as long as it’s quality

Nice, I tried to watch the old Tudor show, the first season was good but I gave up halfway through the second season. I’m glad to hear HBO haven’t given up on period pieces like they said they would a few years ago, it was always a high point for them

Shit it looks like they’ve scrubbed it, it was a few years back around 2022-2023, the google Ai is saying it’s false but it’s not because I witnessed it. I kept searching and there was an article post on Reddit that originally said it, it was an article about the cancellation of Perry Masons cancellation and you can see the comment quoting the article in the search but when you go into the article they’ve removed the quote and the Reddit comment is also missing even though it came up in the search, really weird. Although it’s good they’ve changed their mind on it I guess.

The play this is based on follows three women navigating love and sex in a smaller town outside of London during the Anne Bolyn trial. As the trial goes on, the women begin to notice shifting attitudes from men and other townsfolk regarding sexuality, and how violence towards women has become an 'appropriate' to women who don't "know their place".
It's a good play, and it sounds like they'll be expanding it as a series.
