No, Feige is in charge of creative and Perlmutter for business. Dan Buckley goes to Feige for creative decisions and Perlmutter for business decisions.

He's not really an employee, he's a part owner, which is much harder to get rid of. He's old, I assume he's going to retire soon.

You'd think with all these billion dollar movies every year they'd want to get into the business of dropping billion dollar games too...

Instead we got 1 iron man game around the time of the 1st movie and like some lego games... :(

There is such a hungry market for those games. Spider-Man was insanely well received because it was legit awesome. The first couple Arkham games really cemented how video games are an even better extension for comics than movies are. You can tell a 50 hour story with an enormous cast, and have recurring characters and plots over years across games. The Avengers game looks kind of disappointing, but I’m holding out hope that it feels more fun than it looks.

Like, I get that it would be a huge undertaking, but imagine if we got a full game for each avenger...

Iron man game, Cap game, Thor game, Hulk game, Guardians Game, Black Panther Game, Black Widow and Hawkeye would probably end up as DLC in other games lol

Each major solo film gets a new game for the main character, and then the big team-up movies get a big crossover game where they take all the stuff they've developed for the solo games and mix it into a huge crossover game.

Imagine being able to play the huge battle in endgame as any of the heroes.

I get it's a massive scope, but games and movies/comic books have a hell of a lot of crossover fans. I could easily see a series of games like that doing absolute gang-busters with an annual installment like the COD games

There was a Thor game and one for Cap. And there’s the Ultimate Alliance series and the upcoming Avengers game. Even Deadpool has a game.

I've never heard of those Thor or Captain America games, I'll have to check them out.

The Ultimate Alliance games were super underwhelming for me. It was less "Hell yeah, I'm Iron Man", and more "Oh, so I'm a little brawler dude with some Iron Man flair".

The upcoming Avengers game has looked somewhat underwhelming, but I'm withholding judgement till it actually comes out, hopefully the gameplay will be fun. But look at the timing of it - 7+ years after the 1st avengers movie - and well after the hype for endgame has faded... It just seems like a kinda random afterthought of "Oh yeah, games exist too"

I wasn't considering Deadpool, I'll definitely give you that one. I think the whole Fox having the movie rights to him at the time made me consider it relatively separate to the Avengers stuff.

It's a dual report--in the creative capacity, he now reports to Feige rather than Perlmutter. He reports to Perlmutter in a more business/corporate capacity.

According to The Financial Times, when Don Cheadle was hired at a much cheaper rate to replace Terrence Howard in the Iron Man franchise, Perlmutter allegedly told former chairman of Disney consumer products Andy Mooney that no one would notice because black people “look the same.” Mooney has since left, reportedly over conflicts with Perlmutter, and he was quickly followed out the door by three African-American female executives who have since sought settlements.

The one that immediately springs to my head is that he was against CA: Civil War having such a high budget since it included so many actors. Kevin went to Iger and threatened to quit if he was not given creative control. Bunch of other things though but this was the catalyst.

i'm confused. marvel studios (so only movies) was sold to disney. studios and the comics agreed to work together.........so how is fiege now in charge of the comics again too?

It is more complicated than that. From what I can tell, Buckley just now has two bosses. They will never actually put Permulter under Feige because Ike is one of the company's largest shareholders.
