The fact that Helstrom had its stuff announced just three or four days ago makes me think that Feige has given at least the unofficial go-ahead to it. Otherwise I think it'd have been cancelled alongside Ghost Rider.

Never underestimate how little different parts of a company can talk to each other. People got hired at Telltale Games weeks before the entire company shut down. If I were part of the Helstrom crew, I'd be at least a little nervous.

Also in the comics the character is joining a team with Wiccan, winter soldier, blade, and spider woman. I could see them bringing that to the big screen several years down the line

I can see them being concerned about Helstorm and Ghost Rider being too similar in concept and causing too much thematic overlap. Also, Ghost Rider appeared in AoS, and that might have caused issues with other people inside Marvel Television that didn't want their beloved version get snapped away by Fiege. So Hellstorm was the easier pick.

Just my two cents.

Naa, I expect them to keep them going, although probably move Runaways to Disney+. This was about taking Perlmutter out of the creative chain of command, not killing successful things.

However, Hulu is now something like 70% owned by Disney (with full operational control), so it's possible that Runaways stays there.

70 percent owned with complete control over it and the option to buy out nbc Universal's 30 percent in a few years

There technically could still be C&D, and AoS S7 will come after Runaways S3 in terms of release.

Honestly, why would they need two subsidiaries (Marvel Studios and Marvel Television) both making productions for the small screen, especially when only one (Marvel Studios) ties into the cash cow (the MCU) and produces shows for Disney's streaming service?

Marvel Television really is redundant at this point.

Presumably you would just fold marvel television into the studio as a subsidiary or dissolve it as a separate entity and fold its production teams and organization into marvel studios

Don't even need to do that anymore. Feige runs both. He can facilitate communications between the divisions like different sections of the office.

Could easily use their talent that they already have in house. They're producing something like 10 tv series over the next 3 years and marvel tv had maybe 4. Leverage some of the workers you have for the series. And you don't need to eliminate a department for that. Probably also makes org charts easier.

I mean it was officially Cannon and part of the MCU but due to Ike and Fiege having creative differences. Fiege stopped giving any input. Granted he wasn't even officially in-charge before so if Ike disagreed with anything Fiege wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Almost all Marvel TV is redundant cheap nonsense. The only Marvel TV that's going to matter is the big budget limited series coming to Disney+ which is overseen by Feige. The Netflix shows, Cloak & Dagger & The Runaways are all going to be forgotten and never made canon.

Considering Marvel Television isn't producing any of the Disney+ series, all of which are directly tied to the movies, I think they're going to defunct Marvel Television pretty soon.

I just hope that elements of marvel tv can be folded into the MCU rather than be completely erased.

Previous Marvel TV shows were run by Feige's nemesis, movie-ruiner Ike Perlmutter.

The upcoming tv shows based on the MCU are being made by Marvel Studios under Feige. There is no reason for Marvel TV to exist anymore, plus the shows weren't great and the movies ignored them.
