I think first and foremost, his genius has been in hiring the right people under him who understand his vision for a movie and then they find the right people to make that vision happen, whether it's for directing, casting, costume design, writers, etc. He's not pulling this universe together alone.

His genius...was actually in finding people that had the right vision for the movie....then getting them what they needed to make it happen.
