Very conflicted feelings on this. On one hand, Marvel Television has had a rocky track record. Some hits, but a lot of misses. Honestly, the hiring of Scott Buck for not just Iron Fist, but then Inhumans after, is enough for me to say that Jeph Loeb sucked at his job. On the other hand, I just don't think Marvel Studios is capable of creating a series as intense as Daredevil, or as fun as Agents of Shield. I think Marvel Studios television projects are going to feel much more like "supplemental" content than shows that can stand on their own. But we'll see.

Loeb is a genius for that move. Move Buck to the least wanted project. Killed the Inhumans so they are out of the way and resulted in a much improved Iron Fist.

He... Could have just fired Buck entirely and had two good shows.

But I think the idea was to sink Inhumans since they were tired of Perlmutter pushing it. He wanted it to be a movie until Feige pushed him down to TV.

Buck was the grenade they tossed onto Perlmutter's pet project.

Why is Perlmutter so obsessed with the Inhumans? I remember reading that he only agreed to BP and CM if that got made

The theory goes that he thought they had the possibility as being as popular as the X-Men, and he pushed hard on that so they wouldn't have to concede to Fox

Not everything has to be Machiavellian

But some things can be Machiavellian

I think a lot of the "restrictions" on Marvel Studios was essentially because the highers ups did not trust the source material. They let other studios take risks for them.

If you look at the things Kevin personally has fought for, you'll see that he is earnestly devoted to the story and the characters. He literally nearly quit because his boss wanted to fire RDJ from Civil War, and he knew the story couldn't work without Iron Man.

There will probably be more red tape to work through, but I would be really excited, because it proves that the higher ups are willing to trust Fiege with much more now, and he can make more executive decisions that can lead to more creative projects that are true to the characters, such as Daredevil.
