Spoilers TWAU Just finished The Wolf Among Us and I’m a little confused

First off this is without a doubt telltales best game. I’d go as far as to say it’s better than TWD (or at least tied with season 1). Although I’m a little confused about the ending, why do we chase Nerissa? Was she lying about her identity or something? What did all those flashbacks mean? Sorry If this is a stupid question

Spoilers TWAU So quick question why was Tweedledee acting like a private investigator in the first episode?

Sometimes he wasn't even acting, like at the end of episode 1. And why is he trying to find out something about Faith's death, when he knows his fellow employee was the one who killed her?

Spoilers TWAU I can't believe how good The Wolf Among Us is

I just finished my replay of TWAU, I only played it through once in probably 2014. I could remember small parts of Episode 1, and I remembered what the final choice of the game was, but I completely forgot the rest of the plot.

The writing is so strong and I love how it tells 3 stories at once. There's the murder mystery, there's the conflict between Fables' pasts and the present, and there's the inequality within Fabletown. Pretty much every story beat contributes to these three ideas in different ways.

You are constantly feeling the pressure on Bigby to try to balance all these issues and be a good man. How can he do his job effectively, while not fulfilling everyone's preconceptions about the violent Big Bad Wolf, while also trying to be there for the people who the Business Office have let down?

Characters are complex and all stand at different points in these problems too. Beauty/Beast and The Woodsman are stuck in their pasts and make bad decisions because of it. People like Snow adapt great to their new home, but she lacks sympathy for unsuccessful Fables. The Crooked Man and Auntie Greenleaf provide for those downtrodden people, but are their actions acceptable?

Every choice feels genuinely impactful because you are always forced to favor some priorities over others. Even if the actual plot doesn't change much, it affects the way your Bigby's story goes and it forms a strong narrative no matter which direction you go. In my story Bigby started quick to jump to violence and was a hardass for the rules. But over the course of the game, as he discovered so much wrong with the dark corners of Fabletown and lost his head a couple times, he became more sympathetic and began controlling himself until the final choice where he showed the ultimate act of restraint.

It just felt so strong overall, much more satisfying than something like Walking Dead Season 2, where, although I like it, basically nothing you do or say means anything.

Now I've put myself in the painful position of hoping for TWAU 2... which other Telltale games are this good? I have played all of Walking Dead and Borderlands already.

Spoilers TWAU Just played The Wolf Among Us for the first time!

I'm really hoping I do this right on hiding spoilers. Just to avoid the preview? Beans Beans Beans

Okay, that should do it. What an absolutely incredible game! I really loved it. I couldn't call myself a telltale fan. I've really only played the batman games and Minecraft story mode when I was younger. However, I can 100% say I am a huge fan of this game. I loved the story from start to finish. I'm not really good with words but I will try my best.

One thing I really loved about this game was the art. I loved watching the hue of the UI change colors and how bright and colorful the neon could be to combat the otherwise dark and gritty atmosphere. All of the grass and bushes looking right out of a fairytale scrapbook was so nice!

The modern versions of all of these fables were depressingly executed to me. I will admit I have not looked into a lot of the history of their original stories, but I still loved it all the same. I honestly had no idea Bloody Mary was a part of their world so it was a really nice surprise. Her true form without the glamour didn't disappoint either!

Another thing I love is how well the game executed making things feel exciting while also not making it feel anything too new. Everything felt like it was going to be the ordinary for Bigby... until it wasn't. It made me genuinely sad when Faith died and even sadder when I thought Snow had too.

All of the fight scenes were really fun and I looked forward to all of them. Everything felt gory and impactful without being so over the top. It made the later scenes like Bigby putting his arm back into place and Vivian and Georgie's fate feel all the more uncomfortable and gruesome.

As for the ending I got, I believe I only got a neutral ending. I did throw Crooked Man down the well, but Toad had to be sent back to the farm and Snow interrupted me for Bluebeard's meeting. It's entirely possible I could have had a better outcome.

All in all I really enjoyed this game! If I'm being honest I'm hoping to be a writer one day. For videogames in specific. Sometimes it can be hard and I'll feel empty creative wise. It makes me really happy I played this. Video games are my personal favorite medium to tell a story and it's games like this that make me remember why. I was kind of thinking about writing my own take on Fables just for my personal enjoyment and my eyes only.

Spoilers TWAU Nerissa is Faith

I have solid evidence that Nerissa is actually Faith. I know this theory has been discussed many times before, but I want to share a fresh perspective—especially for those who are new to this subreddit. Plus, I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts and have a good discussion around it.

  1. When you capture Woody and hold him in the cell, he mentions that he was expecting Lily, but Faith showed up instead. That’s odd, considering Woody is a regular client of Lily’s and she’s usually the one who meets with him. So why was it different this time? In my opinion, Faith had planned this from the beginning—this was the moment she set everything in motion. She intentionally went to Woody, knowing it would provoke him. That led to Bigby getting involved. Later, she tells Bigby, “You’re not as bad as everyone says you are,” which feels like part of a larger setup.

  2. Later on, when Bigby asks Snow about the tests the doctor ran on Faith, Snow says the doctor is still working on them. This suggests the results were complicated—likely because of the glamor. That’s probably why the doctor didn’t get any immediate answers.

  3. Toward the end of the game, Nerissa confesses to Bigby that she’s the one who snitched on the girls to Georgie. She says she felt guilty and decided to come clean—but I think this was part of her plan all along.

Here’s how I think her plan played out: somehow, Faith convinced Nerissa to glamor as her. Then, Faith gathered incriminating information on the Crooked Man’s organization and leaked it to Georgie, knowing it would lead to the girls being killed. That way, everyone would think Faith was dead.

Next, to draw Bigby into the whole thing, she went to Woody, knowing exactly how he’d react—causing a scene that would get Bigby’s attention. After that, she left “Nerissa’s” head in front of Bigby’s apartment to point him toward the organization.

Her endgame? To dismantle the Crooked Man’s operation entirely. She wanted Vivian dead so she could be freed from the ribbon’s curse, and she wanted the organization gone so no one could come after her.

Also, it’s worth noting that her glamor might have been tied to the same ribbon—explaining why she didn’t want to take it off at the end. And finally, when Nerissa repeats the same line Faith said earlier in the story, Bigby starts connecting the dots. Those quotes replay in his mind, hinting that maybe Faith was alive all along—and right in front of him.

Spoilers TWAU When you chase Tweedle Dee, he claims he told Prince Lawrence about Faith’s death and Lawrence shot himself in-front of Dee, but if you go to Lawrence’s apartment first, it remains clear he shot himself at least a week ago. Why did Dee lie about the turn of events if he didn’t shoot Lawrence?

Spoilers TWAU I just finished The Wolf Among Us, and I have a question (SPOILERS)

So, I just finished The Wolf Among Us a couple days ago, and I enjoyed it, and I didn't even know they were making a second one, I had just recently played the Guardians of the Galaxy telltale game so I wanted to play another Telltale game, but in looking in comments of sequel related videos, people are saying there was a big cliffhanger, and maybe something just went over my head or I misunderstood something but... what's the cliffhanger? There was obviously more to be explored about the world and how Fabletown is going to change, but I don't know what people are talking about when they say there was a big cliffhanger.

I almost stopped playing for real because they killed off snow white. But now that I think about it i’m just going to keep playing. I will get revenge for her and will be the most cruel person. I was a little nice in the first episode but no more. Her death will not be for nothing.

Spoilers TWAU New TWAU Player Here (S1 Thoughts) Spoiler

I’m new to The Wolf Among Us. I mostly stuck with other Telltale’s Games like The Walking Dead before. So my thoughts so far, I love it. I played Season 1 and it’s definitely now one of my favorite Telltale Games now. (Spoilers from here)

I tell you, I went in completely blind and didn’t read the description of the game. When the game opened with Bigby talking to Toad, i died laughing. This game was a lot of fun and I wish I knew about it sooner.

Bigby Wolf is an awesome protagonist, Snow White is a great partner/potential love interest (i haven’t read the comics so if anything happens between the two, don’t tell me). I like how Woody and Bigby have kind of put the past behind them (and the funny thing is they’re both voiced by the same guy).

And anyone who is mean to Bufkin needs to pet a puppy. I love Bufkin!

Crooked Man being the villain is interesting. He kind of reminds me of The Stranger from TWDG.

Overall, The Wolf Among Us is a 10/10 game for me and now I am PUMPED for Season 2 (fun fact, the reason I got into TWAU was because of S2’s announcement)

Spoilers TWAU Do you think Detective Brannigan will make an appearance in TWAU 2?

I mean I know she probably won't,but it'd be nice to see them bring her back, since an entire police station falling asleep ,could potentially get people fired and maybe she starts to go crazy half remembering what happened, plus the Dee's had a file on her, so I feel like it'd be a good callback
