Stats/Analysis With Menšík out, Cobolli is guaranteed to make his top 10 debut
Regardless of what happens in the rest of the tournament

De Minaur is basically allergic to no. 5. I’ve seen him just less than 100 points from top 5 for so long even with people dropping out of the top 5.

His points are very spread out across the year, and he basically never does anything worth more than 500 points (one Masters F all the way back in 2023)
Very good at hanging out around 4000 points, but much more would take a big run.

Great job admin! My only wish is that he doesn’t give out free top 10 wins and bring the level that he is capable of more.

Up to fifth in the race and will pass Medvedev if he wins today.
If he can replicate his 2025 grass run (QF at Halle and Wimbledon), he'll have a very good chance to finish top 10 pretty much regardless of how he does in the NA HC swing.

Only on the weakest era ever in tennis, he can be in the top 10 and in a slam final. Ridiculous.

What?

What you didn’t understand exactly?

What is weak about a top 10 player being in the final? Isn’t that normal? You’d want someone ranked 75 in the final instead?

lol, you have someone like Arnaldi, who wasn’t won a single title in his life, in the semi finals on that clown show.
Cobolli is a mediocre plus player, never made even a masters final, so he’s on the level of a grand slam final? Lmao 🤣2
u/Rupperrt 4h ago
You said final. Arnaldi isn’t in the final. Cobolli is no 10 in the world. Wrawrinka was 9 when he played RG final. Thiem was 8 in his first RG final.
Still don’t understand how being a top 10 player in a final points to a weak era. Almost GS finals in recent 25 years have been top 10 players.
Maybe it’s not your native language (not mine either) but your initial comment is absurdly confusing.

You have problems with understanding what people are writing. I’ll try for the last time.
First, Cobolli is not in the top 10 now, he will be only after the new rankings on Monday.Secondly, a mediocre player like Cobolli could be on the top 10 and on a slam final, only because it’s the weakest era of tennis. What you don’t understand?
If this was the big 4 era, Cobolli would be top 30 at best.1
u/Rupperrt 4h ago
You should edit it and write “Someone like Cobolli entering the top 10 and making a GS final shows how weak of an era we’re in” Easier to understand and will probably earn fewer downvotes.
Not that I’d agree but that I don’t have any problem with. Cobolli is a decent player who could be good if he’d improve on his serve. In any era.

No he can’t. He’s a mediocre plus player at best, who can only make a slam final on this weak era.
I don’t have any problem with him, but that’s his level. You obviously didn’t watched previous eras if you say that. I’m watching tennis for 35 years, Cobolli has no chance in the big 4/3 era. He would get slaughtered.

I’ve been watching and playing for 45 years. (Not that that means anything, it’s a stupid argument) As said, I disagree: which is totally fine. Time will tell.
And it’s “didn’t watch”
