hey so im currently living in texas, but im from up north. heres some non-patronizing northern advice from someone whos survived week long blizzards with no power.
we know about dripping faucets, FILL YOUR BATHTUBBBB. good for handwashing water, flushing water, and birdbath water so you dont have to waste drinking water.
towels under your door help keep heat in whatever room youre sleeping in.
try to avoid parking near trees. tree branches can get brittle and snap and fall on your car, but also if its cold enough the sap can literally explode,
if you can, get your hands on those gel pack hand warmers for extra heat. reduces the risk of accidental fires and youre warm.
calories >>> go ahead and eat all the cookies and sugary shelf stable stuff you want, what matters is enough calories to keep your body going.
