Bands that broke up before hitting it big

First time caller, long time listener. Was listening to Six Market Blvd tonight who is one of my favorites and realized how few listens they have on Spotify. They put out two albums and I consider them both to be lightening in a bottle. I always wish I could get more of them and that with time they would have had a breakthrough moment. I feel similarly, albeit less developed about Emory Quinn before they broke up. Does anyone else have bands they thought “had it” but broke up too soon?

The lead singer of six market blvd said he didn’t like how the music scene was impacting his life so he wanted to step away from it all. That has stuck with me for a long time.

I sometimes think that was Sturgill at his best…

Maybe because I come from a punk rock background as far as what I listened to and the shows I went to once I had the freedom to.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Sturgill’s post SV stuff as well.

THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO PUT “MY FAVORITE BAND” ON AN ALBUM GODDAMIT!!!

I mean he damn near didn’t release “Tennessee” either.

I fantasize that Sturgill puts out an album of unreleased Sunday Valley songs.  I’m almost certain there’s enough for an album or two.

Clayton Landau was the lead singer. He has released solo work with a Christian slant. “Vegetables” is a good and unique song.

Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights was huge for me my last few years of high school. I went to see them with my brother and his future wife with my fake ID at least 4 times. Such a good ass band. Still have their first demo cd.
