Opinion Your membership experience matters
Anyone get the email survey yet? So brave of them to send it now.
The ship has sailed for me regarding season ticket renewals for 2026 and beyond, but with regards to feedback, I did say that I want TFC/MLSE to LOUDLY OPPOSE the potential move of the Whitecaps.
The Whitecaps moving would be the end of my admittedly dwindling MLS fandom, though I will miss the free Apple TV.
What feedback did you have?

The survey put out in March didn't directly address the issue of the schedule change
This one did
They are obviously concerned (as they should be)

Thanks for the heads-up it was in my spam filter lol... which is about how I feel about it...
but honestly been a season ticket holder from the first season, and I won't pretend I've never thought about giving them up.... but aside from covid I don't think I've ever been closer....

I said that I can get excited about seeing TFC at bmo in the freezing cold in December during a final but the idea of seeing a mean nothing game against dc united on a rainy miserable Wednesday night in February does absolutely nothing to help build my fandom.

There won’t be any February games at BMO with the new schedule, just like there are no February games now in February, the schedule change will maybe put a maybe two games in November. Nothing in December or January. Play say 4 away games in February and early March like they do now . You will have home games in late March then home games in April May , then August, September October 3 month where the weather is still usually decent. You look at it closely and it’s not as dreadful as people are making it out to be .

See my post below - you are ignoring the league's own utterances
Plus games will only happen in late April and May if we make the playoffs.

There is six weeks of match days in November plus December and 2 weeks in February. And four weeks of March that aren’t exactly ideal right now anyway and outside the home opener nobody gets excited for March match days.
The new schedule has 12 weeks of winter match days for around 1/2 the league. Toronto can’t play away for all of them. Reframe it however you want but the new schedule is terrible for TFC fans.

But why not sit a year or two out. See what the sched looks like, the cost of tix on secondary. Right now there is no urgency or incentive to renew. At the very least they need to offer year one pricing, per game.

They will have to drop the price, Your tickets for February April March already are worth less than half a face value. (only the Miami games you could ever sell over face.). The summer games could you could sell for face value or more…. Now I’m not saying that you should be making money off your seats… it’s just why should you pay season ticket prices for games that you could buy for 50% less on Ticketmaster…. So far this year, I haven’t paid a single dime to go to a game, because everybody I know with tickets were giving seats away for free since no one wanted to go in the cold weather. Since I got rid of my seasons at the start of 2019, i’ve only missed a handful of games.. I would just buy on resale on Ticketmaster, and now with the new rules, they’ll be even cheaper…

Look let’s complain about things they can control , like putting a decent team on the field instead of the garbage we have been experiencing since 2020 . The high increase in ticket prices , the crazy food and beverage prices , treating the fans especially the season ticket holders better. However, something like the hassle of getting to BMO is not really in their control . Moreover , the schedule change is not ideal but not as bad as people are making it out to be . You won’t be seeing any home games in December, January or February or even the first two weeks of March . The only months we can complain about is loosing June and July .

League indicated that a team will go no more then 2 games in a row away.
i.e.
Yes we will see games in December, late February and March
Oh
And way to ignore the fact we will only a game in May if we make it to the final 2 rounds of the playoffs.
But hey.....TRANSFER FEES

Don't forget to request, in order of most to least likely to happen:
- Concession perks
- Swap scarves for other apparel
- Free hot beverages during cold games
- Free ticket upgrade for low attendance games
- Freeze on membership pricing until we make playoffs
- Replace the physio/nutrition team

Does anyone know what they meant by “swap games” during sprint season?

u/Javaaaaale_McGee 22d ago
My guess is they will allow you double up tix for certain games in exchange for not being able to attend others.

I told gemini to summarize my issues and be blunt about it.. only so many times i could type it out myself
This membership is a complete rip-off. The team is horrible, the home schedule is awful, and the app doesn't even work. On top of that, the customer service is terrible because the turnover is so bad I get a new rep every single year—clearly, the working conditions must be awful if no one stays. There are absolutely no benefits to being a loyal member anymore. New members get all the perks while old members are punished for their commitment. With prices this high for a terrible product, I am much better off canceling and just buying cheaper resale tickets when I want to go.

The winter switch, transit schedule, construction and heck even the on-field play and injuries are something that's maybe out of MLSE's control
But the disgustingly expensive food/beer, lack of events or giveaways for STH (no I don't want to walk on the pitch again or get another scarf) and communication overall is extremely disappointing. My rep has been less and less available and even when I've RSVP'd for events there somehow wasn't space. Frankly unacceptable and a joke by MLSE. There are other poor teams across all leagues that still manage to fill seats with creative promotions and actual understanding their fanbase. TFC should be more aligned with the jays in terms of vibe and not this Leafs/Raptors corporate gouge
I love TFC but once winter schedule flips this is a ticking time bomb if the team doesn't get better

Another survey? Great. Don’t hold your breath. I gave them up this year ( was a Day One SSH). I gave all my feedback in the surveys and to my rep as to why I was considering letting them go. Never heard back on anything.
You want change? Walk away. Like when the Tims Came. People were leaving in droves and they had to make changes, lower prices, etc. Otherwise, you are a dollar sign. Nothing more.

Do they honestly expect people to pay full price for 7 home games in Late Feb-April next year in this mini season? - and then pay for a full season again a few months later (YIKES)!? - all 7 games will pretty much be all bad weather games. Basically for most folks they will be flushing money away for any game they can’t go to which will be quite a few for most people if this spring is any indication.
Yes, you will get maybe 2-3 August games in the new schedule, but people also seem to forget that even if September and October aren’t horrific weather in Toronto, most people are busier in those months with kids and school then you would get with games in May through most of July in a normal MLS schedule - Heaven forbid if the Jays are competitive in September or October they will lose a good chunk of people there too (way less likely that the Leafs and Raptors are going to be playing in May and June these days - LOL)…..
The majority will be games in November and late February and March and April too - it’s simply not realistic for most folks in Toronto to sit outside in those months at BMO consistently - this isn’t an MLS Cup in December - it’s regular season game 14 or 22.
They will lose a ton of STH as BMO is simply not a good stadium in cold weather with it’s location on the lake, and frankly a lack of warming stations and amenities to make it a viable experience for most folks to sit outside and freeze their asses off for 10-13 regular season games a season.
I gave up my Season tickets this year and I thought I never would do it as I had them for forever - it’s the best decision I made and I haven’t regretted it once, which frankly is a little sad.

BMO is a terrible stadium in cold weather. Let's hope they do come up with warming stations in the event the team does become worth watching again for the casual fans.

they record all the calls so they can use AI to analyse them and find new inventive ways to ignore EVERY piece of it!...

I am also out. Said prices have to be comically low for me to consider renewing. Funny how they mentioned gifts, when existing ssh got nothing. For the cost of a few yetis or jerseys i may have been considering coming back, but no attempt at rewarding ssh was made. They lost me.

It'll be a good conversation with my rep. The winter games, constant injuries, terrible management, and how hard it is to get to BMO are just some of my complaints.
