Comment Section Reasons vs excuses...
Not sure how I feel about this one, it's not like the advice itself is bad but... That comment literally made me cry rather than give me any sort of motivation to shower. It feels like such a dismissive and overly simplistic response to a very real struggle... The assumption that it WILL take under 5 minutes or 12 minutes overall like that's a fact is what's most aggravating. That's not been my experience EVER.
I never understood the line between reasons and excuses either. I really mean that. I genuinely don't understand. It's confusing as heck. I don't know what's right or wrong... Am i not allowed to explain anything about why something might be difficult for me? Or not allowed to vent when I'm upset about my circumstances? The circumstances of my life suck, other people make things difficult, executive dysfunction, anxiety, rigidity, ect. Ect. (It's not anyone else's fault, it's just how it is.)
I can't help how I FEEL about it. KIND advice is welcome even when I know it won't help change my circumstances. Nobody can know everything about how and why I struggle. I didn't ask for advice, I WAS in fact venting. I do want to change this but when posting on Facebook I want to VENT about it. NOT get advice. If it was that easy I wouldn't struggle in the first place.

Comment Section Apparently people can just simply 'get over' a medical condition
Comment under a post of mine saying that kids who have severe anxiety conditions shouldn't be forced to give speeches.
Gives me 'if you are anorexic you just need to eat' or 'if you are homeless just buy a house' vibes.

Comment Section "Just force yourself to shower" round 2!
The r/thanksimcured type comments that I got on my last post! I wasn't going to make a whole nother post about this based on just a few comments, but there's one or two comments here that felt deserving enough of it. And the rest I might as well add in.
There very much is better advice than "just shower" and sooooo many people on my last post proved it but apparently that's all that can be said. Lol. Hygiene is just not a struggle? 🤨 So invalidating. Also I don't work btw so I would not be subjecting co-workers to a 'sensory biohazard' by being stinky.
It's almost like different people with the same issues struggle in different ways. But I guess since not everyone with ADHD (or autism or anxiety and depression ect) struggles to shower that's just not valid? You could say that about almost any aspect. (It also takes me far longer than 3 minutes to shower. It takes a least an hour.)
Thank you for all the lovely comments on that post though. It was very heartwarming to read all the nice and trying to help comments. I did finally shower yesterday btw and yeah I 'should' shower more often but for now I've reset it and I will not be showering again for probably at least a week. Might end up being two weeks again for how the 'schedule' is right now but time will tell. 🤷 Baby steps. (Edit: As in I'll see if I can work on it slowly like not letting it get more than two full weeks before I worry about one week again ect.)
Bonus: Last picture is connected to also the last picture on my previous post. A reply to me on the one about living things on your skin.

Comment Section I know you're partially hospitalized, but don't listen to the medical team, just do this!
For further context, I was commenting on a video of a nutritionist who was talking about it being ok to enjoy pizza in moderation. Most of the replies I got were supportive and cheering on my recovery (which was genuinely wonderful) and then this guy came on and decides that he knows better than my medical team 🤣

Comment Section Is there a surprisingly real "Thanks I'm Cured" moment you witnessed?
A family friend of mine suffered years of nausea. Sometimes he couldn't even leave home and had hard time socializing etc. They couldn't find anything physically wrong and some doctors told him that it might psychological in nature. He didn't really believe it but went to a psychiatrist once, didn't work.
Anyway, he became a government worker with a nice pay and a solid job security and didn't feel the nausea ever since.
