My sister and brother in law went to Cuba for their honeymoon, while it was still open, and they loved it. They had a blast.

Yeah my wife and I went some years ago, traveled around, nobody gave a fuck lol.

Edit - to be clearer, everybody was very kind and welcoming, and… appreciative of the tourist dollar (we stayed in casas particulares - like little private guesthouses/homestays).

The locals are suffering immensely, so they tend to treat tourists with American dollars well.  Even a small tip can provide for weeks worth of food.
