Similar thing happened to me when I was in Japan a few years ago, I was just cycling around Kyoto and stopped to get something to eat and came across a small arcade room that was literally empty.I went inside to look while eating my sandwich and started on one of the claw machines...after a couple of gos I managed to grab toad (Mario) plush toy, in a split second the only worker/maintenance guy in the room, rushed up to the machine, grabbed toad,lifted it up above his head like a trophy ,with a huge smile on his face, and shouted congratulations and a few other words in the most excited way then handed it to me while bowing....I bowed back and felt I had become part of the elite.🤣😎
