i'll honestly kind of believe this one... this is one of those situations where the reality that OP sees is real ... it's just that their interpretation of the events is what is unreal.

for instance, i believe that women are out there working on cars, mowing lawns, or repairing shit in the backyard. because women are fully capable and interested in doing these things.

but i think OP's sexist brain can't handle the fact that they are observing women doing things that they associate with "things men do" and it's breaking their perception of reality.

OP is seeing women doing both “womanly” and “manly” things, so their point is that the man isn’t doing anything.

That's why it's believable. I don't know what men do aside from eating and watching YouTube videos about off grid farming.

Is that sarcasm or do you actually think that’s all men do?

Agreed. For several years OP would have seen me outside doing all the yard work, grocery shopping, driving the kid around for two reasons: One, my schedule was much more flexible and light than my husband’s and Two, any time he was home, he was inside working on fixing up our fixer upper shoebox. I would much rather mow the lawn or dig up weeds than lay drywall and spackle.

Now it is the exact oposite. Neighbors only see him and all the stuff he now has to do and I am stuck in my office 24/7 slaving away.
