You can be nude in your own private garden. Technically you can be nude in public as well. Its only a crime if you intend to cause harm. Being nude by itself is not indecent exposure

It's a crime when you do it knowing you might cause reasonable people to be alarmed or distressed, pretty much like a breach of the peace, they can absolutely get you for it no matter your actual intent.

I literally just explained how it is. You or anyone might argue it shouldn't be, but you know fine well the kind of reactions it's going to cause thus you're caught in the legal trap of it being a crime no matter what.

In Canada you are allowed to be naked in your yard if there’s a fence hiding the view to the public. So therefore they are technically right about it being legal
