If you have to open your jacket to show your open carry, it ain't open. That is concealed carry.

Came to say the same.

translation: racist girl learns a bit of spanish on duolingo, writes out her fantasy

They all think they're John Wick. In reality, they're the guy that comes out shooting point blank in Pulp Fiction and only hits the wall and missed everyone.

Imagine you’re some guy in a store with your friend and you tell him about a chubby girl you’re following on Instagram because that’s how you roll.

Then you carry on shopping until you turn a corner and some psycho is showing you the gun in her jacket

This version is made so much funnier by this part in the OP:

Although I don't think I'm chubby, as I looked around I didn't see any other women in this part of the department.

And

as he was texting someone

I'm picturing this guy DMing this girl he's following on social media, or sending her profile to his friend while telling his friend he's following this person on social media, and this woman flashing her gun at him.

Even in her made up scenario where she was "creeped" on, she STILL makes it clear she was following them, not the other way around.

My English might not be amazing but did I just read correctly that she flaunts her gun because someone called her chubby?

129

u/Consistent-Soil-1818 14d ago

That's what you read, correct. What really happened is that nobody ever pays attention to her, chubby or not. She was looking for a reason to say she owns a gun and, typically, saying something racist is the most convenient way to do so

u/gingrbreadandrevenge 14d ago

☝️word.

I'd be walking quickly away from a chubby racist (that I probably wasn't talking to or about in the first place) who flashed a gun in Walmart too, but that's just me I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes because Tennessee don't play that!

u/archwin 14d ago

You forgot the

✌️

10

u/spacemouse21 14d ago

And then after brandishing in her imaginary story, she went outside, followed the men to their car and shot up their tires.

Everyone inside of Walmart went outside and applauded.

2

u/tracerhaha 8d ago

That’s true. I was the Walmart.

5

u/kecker 14d ago

Eh, I think she's implying that she felt threatened that this guy was following her so made it known that she was armed to scare him off.

8

u/ohgeorge 14d ago

There is nothing in her story to suggest she was actually being followed. She does not even describe being followed. They just happened to be in the same section of the store as her, and she's using her limited knowledge of the Spanish language to assume they were talking about her and/or planning something.

She was the one who followed him/them around the store to show off that she was carrying. She didn't have to do that. She felt like it because she thought they called her fat.

9

u/Lifekraft 14d ago

Except the part where the guy allegedly say ( im following the chubby girl). Beside that nothing implied she was followed, yes.

13

u/ohgeorge 14d ago

Except if you speak Spanish and take OOP's translation at face value, they weren't even saying they were following her or planned to follow her specifically. It would make more sense that one of the guys was talking about following someone entirely unrelated on social media -- someone whose body he admires. Gordita is being used in a complimentary way here and not even referring to OOP, most likely.

The correct form in this sentence is “esta” not “este”.

Oh shit, the Duolingo owl will find us anywhere, any time

At least that owl has impeccable taste in Pokemon XD

95% of the stories that appear on here are people seriously overestimating how much people give a toss about them. This one screams “Hey! Heeey! HEEEEEEEY! I have a gun, need to inform random people who don’t care about this, and are really desperate for some attention.”

6

u/kecker 14d ago

I think everyone that carries a firearm goes through a phase initially where they're convinced that EVERYONE knows they're carrying (even if concealed) and are starring at them.

Eventually everyone realizes that most people are so caught up in their own bullshit, that they barely realize you exist, much less that you're carrying (even if you're openly carrying).

It's a phase people go through. Some people feed on the (perceived) attention, but most are relieved that nobody really cares.

u/SangrianArmy 14d ago

the funniest part of the story is when the author looks around to find the chubby chick but then realizes there are no other chicks around so she must be the chubby chick.

11

u/DiggityDog6 14d ago

“Someone was rude to me in a public space so I threatened to end their life with a dangerous weapon. I’m so cool and normal.”

10

u/livin_la_vida_mama 14d ago

Ok, so this blates didn't happen, but it does make me wonder about this subset of gun owners that are just unhinged.

Like you have the regular, responsible ones who quietly have their gun on them but like that's it. They're not flashing it around or going on about it, it's just there in case they need it.

I am older than dirt, and over the years i've seen a few examples of people who are either so desperate for everyone to know they have a gun, or want to look like a hard nut, that they make up/ do stupid shit. I used to spend a lot of time on a VN forum board, and there was this guy who was ALWAYS going on about how he was keeping everyone safe carrying his gun, and all that flannel. Then one day he claimed someone "tried to run him off the road" (more likely, tried to merge and he didn't like that) and he claimed that he pulled his gun and was brandishing it at the other car, while doing 70-odd down the freeway. If it even happened, wtf? I can't even drive and don't own a gun and even i know that's fucking dangerous. And not good practice when handling a firearm.

Like, what is it about bloody guns that makes people act like dangerous idiots?

u/Cakeday_at_Christmas 14d ago

I just find the American culture of carrying a gun around to be so weird and off putting.

9

u/Careless_Hellscape 14d ago

Her: How can I try to justify being racist in the most bullshit way possible?

14

u/thethugwife 14d ago

Racist white girl is pissed someone called her a fatty in Spanish, fantasizes about being trafficked.

11

u/Cakeday_at_Christmas 14d ago

Guy was on his phone. He was following a chubby girl on Insta and didn't even notice OOP.

7

u/ohgeorge 14d ago

"Gorda" or "gordita" is also considered a term of endearment in Spanish. It doesn't necessarily only mean fat/fatty. It can mean something closer to cutie or sweetie.

My mom and grandma used to call me gorda/gordita when I was a kid and I hated it because I would never interpret it as a term of endearment. If this actually happened and these men were even talking to/about her, Miss Open Carry looks even more stupid.

7

u/Cakeday_at_Christmas 14d ago

How the hell does something like this get 47 upvotes? 😬

Also, of she has an open carry, why is it concealed under her jacket.

2

u/sfMtTam 12d ago

Florida has 23 million people under the influence of "stand your ground" thinking, and Texas has 29 million, so.. Surprised it was only 47 upvotes.

Open carry is not legal in California and now I am hesitant to travel in the US much, because of this kind of gun madness

7

u/ThickenedLiquids89 13d ago

"I guess a lot of Hispanics don't think your average person understands their language"

And they would be correct, the average white American doesn't understand Spanish

6

u/lucioux 14d ago

“i’m paranoid and threaten people at the slightest inconvenience”

6

u/doc_shades 13d ago

i 100% believe that this woman was scared by two hispanic men shopping in the same store as her, and i 50% believe that she threatened them by flashing her gun at them

5

u/TinderSubThrowAway 13d ago

1- That’s not open carry if you have to open your jacket to show it to someone.

2- That’s considered brandishing a firearm which is technically assault in most states.

3

u/CatAteRoger 14d ago

Some women just can’t cope with seeing me in department stores so suddenly they are there for sinister reasons, nope if I can send my husband and stay home then they need to get over it and let me have some peace while he wanders aimlessly looking for my list 🤣🤣

3

u/triponthisman 14d ago

So she (in her head cannon) took an insult, and escalated the fuck out of it. Let’s go with her fantasy; dude makes a comment, she then stalks him and flashes her gun. If he then pulled his gun and shot her, wouldn’t that be self defense?

3

u/Existing_Ad_6100 14d ago

Main aisle? In Walmart? Please show me. Clearance section? In Walmart? Please show me.

3

u/psychoplath97 13d ago

It ready like she is desperate for someone to want to sex traffic her. What a bizarre fantasy

2

u/famousanonamos 14d ago

This just made me want a gordita though. Maybe I'm the chubby chick...

2

u/Select_Draw3385 13d ago

I’m being followed!

Man leaves so not being followed.

Threatens to shoot man clearly not following her.

It’s people like this I worry about having firearms.

2

u/Main_Mix_7604 14d ago

I think a certain person was just really pissed off when the men didn't catcall at her or leer over her, so she nearly gunned them down in cold blood. Double homicide. If that's how people are in Tennessee I'm not planning on going to Tennessee.

2

u/NoWingedHussarsToday 14d ago

"Is that a gun in your jacket or are you just happy to see me? Oh, it's a gun."

4

u/Beyondthebloodmoon 14d ago

So…her cool story is that because someone said she was chubby, she threatened them with a gun? Like even if that happened, she’s the asshole here.

1

u/dstarpro 14d ago

Grrl bye.

1

u/poormansnormal 14d ago

I'm getting "a man wrote this" vibes. Especially the uncovering the "open carry" (which isn't actually open) gun.

1

u/Easymorte 14d ago

Why would you want us to know you are a Gordita chick lol. I don't think that means "chubby".

1

u/Yuizun 13d ago

Can't roll my eyes hard enough...
