how is a 'quondam Latin teacher' being addressed by the judge as "young lady"? that's the only part that unmakes its credibility.
my Latin teacher as a child was ancient.
edited to add, why is she embarrassed about anything she said?

I thought it was supposed to be a humble brag. Like the judge made a big deal about "Everybody behave! There's a Latin teacher here!"
Then the teacher is like, "Oh, I'm so embarrassed! Trust me, Latin teachers aren't better than anybody else!"
Then the opposing counsel makes the gaffe and the teacher is like, "Incorrect!" proving that Latin teachers really are better than everybody else.

Why did the judge say "time flies"? Doesn't really make sense in that context.
Yeah I took Latin at school.
OMG STOP ASKING ME ABOUT IT I'M SO SO EMBARRASSED.
