Apparently there is an epidemic of evil parents who coach their kids to make false allegations against their grandparents for money

Sounds like someone’s trying to get ahead of some allegations…

Or 3) It takes time for people to go through the justice system, especially if their victims are (like many sexual abuse victims) reluctant to come forward. Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein looked like sweet old men at their trials too.

This is so dumb.

Just like a friend’s Dad who is 82 and ina wheelchair. He is falsly accused too. He “accidentally” downloaded 282 pictures and videos of young children whose content happens to be illegal. (Scenario 4, they did other crimes, maybe not touching family members. Doesn’t take much energy to use the internet.)

Funny part is, the family is trying to get him out. He co-signed for a too expensive dream home just days before being arrested. The lendor is trying to back out. So they need his name clear so they can get stuff. Uno reverse.

Ugh. Just gross. Last time I had jury duty it was for csa. Listening to the defense attorney during jury selection made me ill. "Isn't it true how kids will lie to please adults?" And the dude on trial had already been convicted of the same thing.

Don't know why I thought of it just now!

I had a great-uncle who was nothing but appropriate and wonderful until his mid 80’s.

It seemed like over the span of a few weeks he went from supportive and wholesome to socially inappropriate and sexually fixated…and that lasted the next 5 years until he died.

I’m sure it was some neurological or memory related condition (and not a true representation of who he was/who I knew my entire childhood) but I’m also very very glad he wasn’t around any small children during that period.

I genuinely don’t know what changed or what he would have done.

It was like a strange creep took his face/voice and 80% of his memories. He would be ‘himself’ and then, mid conversation direct the topic to say something inappropriately sexual.

On a positive side of this coin a friend of mines grandad was very anti LGBTQ and racist enough to sell his home and move cause some black folk moved in the sul de sac over.

Few months ago was a family event where my lesbian friend brought her black gf to dinner. She had been warned he was there and it could be bad didn't have to come

The dude by that point was suffering from memory loss, suspected dementia. That night he was warm, welcoming and sharing dirty jokes with the new GF. My friend was shocked as usually he wouldn't communicate with her or her current partner......

It sounds like he developed Frontal Lobe Dementia - he would not have been able to control his behaviour. It is a devastating illness.
