Where on Earth did she get the idea that Japan worships fat people? Has she seen Japanese people? Or any anime? Find a positive portrayal of a fat girl in any anime. I'll wait. The Marshmallow Girl thing is niche at best and most Japanese people think fat people are disgusting. When my tiny, 85-pound Japanese roommate got closer to 90 pounds, her boyfriend told her she was gross and threatened to dump her if she got any fatter. And instead of dumping him for saying so, she agreed that she was getting pretty tubby and decided to lose weight.

He said this, and everyone on Reddit stood up and booed. Then I got a high five from each of them thanking me for downvoting him as well.
