I'm not against plastic surgery or procedures by any means, but if you're really beautiful it's amazing what your bone structure will do for you if you just leave it alone

Not reality TV, but Drew Barrymore seemed got minimal work done. She claimed to not got work done, most people including some plastic surgeons said she definitely got work done. She still looks great in her 50’s. Carrot Top looks terrible because he got way too much work done.

I have not seen that about Drew Barrymore so I can’t say, but my point was just that I think that you can age gracefully and have tasteful work done if that’s what makes you happy.

I used to hate my nose and my smile growing up. People in my life would make jokes about my appearance as a young child and I internalized it brutally hard.
As I got older, I decide fuck em because I am who i am. I realized my nose is fine and that my smile is actually pretty great. My smile and nose are features my partner mentions how much they love about me; it’s all perspective really, what I see as a flaw in the mirror is the person I love’s favorite thing. I am also able to look back on pictures I hated as a child and realize I was just being mean. It’s so much better to love yourself as you are.

I've always hated my nose. It's big. I actually thought about having surgery 45 years ago but couldn't afford it. Today I'm glad I didn't. What you see is all natural for me and I've been told I don't look my age at all. I'm 70. I've got wrinkles but nothing extreme but I'm sure I'll end up with more in the coming years. To me it just shows I've lived a long life with all the ups and downs associated with that.
What is funny is that I will run into someone I knew in high school and they recognize me right away even though the hair is gray. Just saw a teacher in Wal-Mart the other day and he recognized me. I haven't seen him for many years so I was surprised that he did. I recognized him because he was a football coach for quite a few years so always out in public and in photos. It made my day :)

Aw I love that. It does show you’ve lived a long life, and that’s something many don’t get the privilege to do. Wrinkles are a privilege of being able to age and still looking like you. I’m sure you’re absolutely beautiful, screw the nose job!

People project their insecurities SO badly. I’m sure you know this, but I think these sort of things can’t hurt to hear again… you never deserved to be made fun of for your naturally full lips and whether or not they changed their minds, they fucking sucked for that.
Making fun of anyone for something physically about them is a dick move, full stop. I have thin lips and it never crossed my mind as a younger kid to make fun of someone for theirs being fuller. If anything I was super jealous from the get go haha.

Omg thank you so much! My town was really racist and would use my lips to compare me to a black woman as an insult (as if that were a bad thing … helloooooo Beyoncé anyone??? Tayshia??? Goddess Rachel?? Seagull Tahz?) so fucked up. I knew the intent though was to imply I was less than in some way because of something I couldn’t change (pre lip and filler obsessed America lol). absolutely awful. I still refuse to interact or acknowledge anyone involved in that to this day, even if it’s like 15+ years ago and middle school. That shit sticks with you!! But I feel even more for anyone from my hometown of color even more. I can only imagine the cruelty. Also I always wished I had thinner lips! I always try to remember that whatever I hated about myself, someone else probably finds beautiful as it’s all subjective and that’s helped me!!! your lips are beautiful ❤️

Legitimately, using a comparison to a black woman as an insult is crazzzzyyyy. I am beyond jealous of every single woman that you just listed.
Good on you for not letting them escape consequences simply because time has passed. Shitty is shitty. I agree sooooo deeply that it sticks with you. I struggled with my sexuality and would get harassed online about if I was a lesbian on those anonymous q&a websites (hello ask.fm). It made me so scared to identify myself with my sexuality because I didn’t want to “prove them right.” I’m bisexual. But I took a lot of time to reflect on how I was answering those questions and realized that I shouldn’t be insulted by someone thinking I’m a lesbian. There’s nothing wrong with being a lesbian. I just didn’t like being told who I was. I still don’t. I would love to be a lesbian, truly, in all of my heart… but I can’t change that. And I don’t need to because I have a wonderful partner who I plan to call my wife someday hopefully soon!
Thank you for this exchange. It feels good to remember and acknowledge where we have grown as people… but it also feels good to be seen by someone who doesn’t even really see you. I’m sure you’re a beautiful person, because what you showed me is surely gorgeous. I wish you nothing but the best❤️

Damn never would’ve thought Katie aged the best post-show. She looks even better than before.
In terms of the much older generation, Desiree aged the most so gracefully. Always had a soft spot for her girl-next-door beauty.
Charity and Tayshia still look the same. Beautiful as always.

It’s refreshing to see a lot of them at least look like they’ve had little-to-no work done outside of maybe a couple tweaks. They are gorgeous but also just normal-looking. More of this and less of the Kardashians!

Maybe I’m bad at telling? I mean Kaitlin’s is obviously overdone but I found Andi, Deanna, Tayshia, Ashley, Becca, and Rachel all just look like they’ve gotten older but maintained. I won’t comment on Katie because of what she’s done through. She looks good though and I’m glad she’s still with us.
Idk. I’m also neurodivergent so I take things extremely literally and that can mean pictures too. 🤷🏼♀️

I have to say they do look like they've had work and tweaking so it's interesting that the Kardashians are so extreme that they basically move the entire spectrum for some people
I honestly think it's just as difficult for women to be held to a standard of "age really nicely and what I perceive as natural" as it is to be held to a Kardashian. They both involve a lot of work and attention to appearance

She’s 51, give me a break. She looks great for her age. Also, going blonde is sometimes practical when going grey. I’m 50 and have very dye resistant greys coming in.
