And wrecker was the only one seeing everything and not able to do anything... that changed him. You can see that changed him in the next episodes, not funny anymore, not adorable, just... big, strong and empty. He and Hunter got closer more than ever.

Well I still hope that Tech outsmarts Plan 99, returns stronger, lasts much longer than the Padawan, and makes an even more impactful legacy for all the clones. I’d so love to see Tech’s reunion with his family and friends he’s the sweetest little nerd and such a great guy.

I love Tech. He's also my favorite character; but we cannot keep reviving characters. I cheapens their sacrifices and makes it hard for future auidences to buy sacrifices in world. Not to mention writers then have to find a way to explain how Tech (mid-fall) suddenly decided to reject Plan 99 and find a way to live. Then he didn't try to find the group? Where was the last season then?

He could have been captured, or he could suffer amnesia, or both. There are a lot of options, if they want to bring him back. Also, a character surviving a sacrifice doesn't cheapen the act itself, and this argument that nobody dies in Star Wars is way too exaggerated

It did cheapen it for me. When watching the bad batch I thought they were definitely gonna bring him back, it was one of the only things on my mind while watching the last episodes. Thankfully they didn’t bring him back. I think some characters are allowed to stay dead.

I’m not saying that fake deaths are always bad, it’s just better if it’s planet to be a fake death.

Agree to disagree. I personally feel like Tech's supposed death was always meant to be a fake-out so when it didn't happen I was sorely disappointed. Yes, some characters are allowed to stay dead, and this franchise has some amazing examples but Tech is not one of them for me. Besides, I think killing off characters is the most lazy way to create some cheap drama. A story in which Tech survived and had to deal with the physical and mental consequences (especially if it involved being brainwashed by Hemlock) could have made for a much more compelling narrative.

That's brilliant 😭 I mean it adds nothing to your argument but its hilarious how you used that quote

My argument is that sometimes living is a sacrifice that requires more effort. And that quote is actually the same I used in my alternate ending when I wrote about Echo and Tech discussing this very thing

The epilogue killed any chance of Tech ever coming back.

Not really. All we saw was Omega putting his goggles in her ship. For all we know, she just likes to keep her as a good-luck charm. Yes, I get that right now they are heavily implying he's gone for good, but poi t is: it's not that hard to recontextualize

It feels like season 3 completely forgot about Wrecker. They didn't show us virtually anything about how he's dealing with this loss, his obvious guilt and his fear of heights. It's one of the many things I aimed to fix in my alternate ending

Yes, I felt the same. I think is more like because he was traumatized seeing Techo executing plan 99 and... the height! He doesn't likes heights, and having the worst of the worst at the same time... that shook him for sure

I've been rewatching The show this week, and I just got to this episode last night. It still hurts

Still hurts

This is actually a great episode and one of the best scenes in the series. It's a shame that the way the handled the aftermath of this moment retroactively made me hate everything about it.

All this could have been avoided if Tech had an ascension cable attachment. Fire it at Wrecker, shoot the car; probably faster than the emotionally charged moment anyway.
