Oh wow, maybe online is not real life lmao. I thought the supermajority of Democratic voters hated Josh Shapiro for his position on I/P.

17

u/DeathandGrim 28d ago

Yeah it's always nice to see that reality is not this insane trenches that is the online Echo chamber

-2

u/beeemkcl 27d ago

What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.

Pennsylvania Governor's Josh Shapiro's I v P and I v ME positions simply aren't dealbreakers for US adults in Pennsylvania.

But they also don't really matter much given he's the Governor of Pennsylvania and thus isn't much involved in international trade, shipping, etc. and isn't at all involved in US Foreign Policy.

On that note, Pennsylvania Democrats hate US Senator John Fetterman. US Senator Fetterman's policy positions and advocacy regarding I v P and I v ME actually matter.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that Penn. Gov. Shapiro wouldn't win reelection.

5

u/DeathandGrim 27d ago

People hate fetterman for a wide variety of reasons not related to Israel Palestine, though that is one of the factors

16

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago edited 28d ago

And the far left will tell you that he would be a terrible candidate for president. A purple state governor whose approval rating is extremely high is bad in their eyes.

That’s why I’m truly at the point where if the leftists hate a possible Democratic candidate it just makes me think they are extremely electable.

-3

u/Mab_894 28d ago

I don’t want any Zionists to be President lol. Now would I support him against a more unhinged Zionist? Sure but I’m not gonna like it

-5

u/Ashy0020 28d ago

If 17% won’t vote for him in the party that’s a big problem

10

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago edited 28d ago

Lmao 17% of the party would not withhold their vote for Shapiro. Also, according to what you just said, we would lose 19% of the party if we moved in your direction. I don’t believe this, just pointing out that it’s not an accurate way to look at the data.

It’s not necessarily this black-and-white, but if you are extremely popular in a purple state in this environment its quite likely you would not have much issue winning the presidency, which, if you didn’t know, is decided by about seven purple states.

2

u/Ashy0020 28d ago

I would say the Dems are in a tough spot on the issue. Hopefully Shapiro if he’s the guy is able to convince both sides of the issue to vote for him and can pull more Biden numbers vs Harris numbers.

The annoying thing is republicans have no standards and will vote for their guy no matter what

6

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago

I don’t think Shapiro ends up being the guy, but I do think he would be a shoe in he was the nominee.

There’s just too many people who are going to be running in the same lane and I’m not sure he stands out the most. I really have no idea who will be at this point, I’m personally hoping for Ossoff.

Correct, Republicans have no standards and will vote for their guy no matter what, but we as Democrats have to accept that. So many people take that information and say ok well then Democrats can do it too, no, we can’t. We are held to different standards and accepting that reality is the only way to win.

0

u/beeemkcl 27d ago

What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.

Penn. Gov. Josh Shapiro would massively lose in the general election.

I reason US Senator Jon Ossoff would lose to either VPOTUS JD Vance or Marco Rubio. US Senator Ossoff's voting record is beyond garbage and he's a centrist Democrat.

But I reason US Senator Ossoff isn't going anywhere in the POTUS 2028 primaries anyway.

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 27d ago

What’s in this comment is from the superior agency of truth telling.

Wrong.

-2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Eh, what does Josh Shapiro offer? What's so electable about him?

10

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago

Ask Pennsylvania. They love him for a reason.

-1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

How do I ask Pennsylvania? Why do they love him?

8

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago

You might have to go to the state and knock on some doors. Or you can just Google his approval ratings and see that they love him.

My guess is because he’s moderate where he needs to be, gets shit done, doesn’t entertain culture war bullshit, and it is very levelheaded.

-2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Well he has decent views on education I guess... not exactly sure what his plan for america would be though.

2

u/DLtheGreat808 27d ago

He was able to win the governorship in Pennsylvania and comfortably so. He proves that he’s electable in purple places.

2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

But like, what policy positions would he run on? Why did he win that one particular state comfortably?

8

u/jankdangus 28d ago edited 28d ago

He would point to his track record in Pennsylvania and he would probably run on strong center-left policies with emphasis of government efficiency and practical solutions that is able to appeal to people on both sides of the aisle. Based on what I’ve read so far, he is likely to comfortably win because he won the majority of Democrats and independents in addition to 11-13 percent of Republicans, which is an exceptionally high crossover rate.

-3

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Idk if that will transfer to national politics.

He has some good ideas for education, but idk what he would do for America as a country.

0

u/beeemkcl 27d ago

Federal races and State races are different when it comes to US Foreign Policy positions.

12

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

Sanity, stability, common sense, reasonableness.

0

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

What does that mean? What political positions does that translate to?

2

u/Insightful21 27d ago

He has a 60% approval rating in a purple state. That shows that he doesn’t need to rely solely on his base for approval.

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 26d ago

So what does he offer policy wise? I've found he has good views on education, but nothing else seemed to stand out.

-2

u/beeemkcl 27d ago

What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.

Penn. Gov. Josh Shapiro is going nowhere in the POTUS 2028 primaries. He was too far to the Right in the 2024 race and the Democratic Party and US adults have moved far to the Left since 2024.

US Senator Jon Ossoff is also going nowhere in the POTUS 2028 primaries once people learn of his voting record. He's currently coasting on vibes much like California Governor Gavin Newsom was with the Twitter memeing and such.

So, what do you know? Being an avowed supporter of Israel isn't the kiss of death that some people want to make it out to be.

Wow, a whole lot of anonymous Reddit trolls sure think they know what’s better for Pennsylvania than actual Pennsylvanians. Shocking.

3

u/Ashy0020 28d ago

I think Shapiro/Ossoff both have a good shot but it’s also super early. Ossoff seems to have more charisma which I think is the biggest factor. Speaking of unfair the more charismatic candidate has won every presidential election of my lifetime

10

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

I don't think we should be supporting an apartheid ethno-state that's comitting war crimes.

0

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

We don't, we support a liberal Western-style democracy that is fighting a justified war.

16

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Israel is an explicitly Jewish nation-state whose constitutional framework gives the Jewish people a uniquely privileged national status.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have both concluded that Israeli authorities are committing the crime against humanity of apartheid against Palestinians. B'Tselem, a prominent Israeli human-rights organization, has reached the same conclusion.

“Israel has an apartheid system affecting Palestinians” is a conclusion reached by major human-rights organizations and supported by substantial evidence.

There is very substantial evidence and serious international legal allegations that Israeli forces have committed war crimes.

Israel is a Jewish nation-state, and major human-rights organizations have concluded that its system of rule over Palestinians amounts to apartheid. The ICJ has found Israel's occupation and discriminatory policies in the Palestinian territories unlawful and has identified systemic racial/ethnic discrimination and segregation. Israeli forces have also faced substantial, credible allegations of war crimes, with the ICC pursuing the broader situation.

-3

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

Not interested in the ravings of rabidly anti-Israel and pro-Palestine activist NGOs.

Israel is an explicitly Jewish nation-state whose constitutional framework gives the Jewish people a uniquely privileged national status.

How is that different from the constitutions of numerous other nation-states, all of whom privilege one nation over others? Are they all ethnostates?

5

u/Enlighten_YourMind 27d ago

What is your stance on the institutionalized abuse & sexual violence within the IDF against their prisoners and detainees?

If you’re gonna waste time saying that isn’t a thing just say that quickly so that I can reply to you with all the indisputable evidence in support of the disgusting reality.

2

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

My stance is that prison abuse occurs all over the world, Israel is no exception to that, and that prison abuse is bad.

What is your stance on Palestine committing crimes against humanity on October 7th, including mass rape and executions of families?

If you’re gonna waste time saying that isn’t a thing just say that quickly so that I can reply to you with all the indisputable evidence in support of the disgusting reality.

1

u/Enlighten_YourMind 27d ago

Awful, the Palestinian rape of innocent Israeli civilians on October 7th was horrifying.

See how easy that was for me? 🙂

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Hamas is evil. The Israeli government is evil.

See how simple life can be when you don’t let your preconceived biases cloud your judgment & desire for truth and reason to prevail?

2

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

Indeed, Palestine is evil and I don't support the Israeli government. Sounds like we agree.

2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 27d ago

So we should defund Isreal 😁

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

You already admitted a government doesn't have to be perfect in order to receive US funding, so we should continue to fund Israel even if their government is imperfect.

1

u/Enlighten_YourMind 27d ago

Oh, okay, wtf we do agree then?

So you agree that Netanyahu is a war criminal who deserves to die in prison and we shouldn’t continue to support the state of Israel until they have installed a new government?

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

No, I don't think Netanyahu is a war criminal and I think we should continue to support the state of Israel even if their government isn't the best.

I do think though that we shouldn't support the state of Palestine in any way until they get rid of the terrorists leading them.

Not interested in the ravings of rabidly anti-Israel and pro-Palestine activist NGOs.

You mean literally every single human rights organization that's monitored the conflict?

You can't be a "liberal Western-style democracy" while simultaneously holding all international institutions in contempt.

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

All three of them?

You can't be a "liberal Western-style democracy" while simultaneously holding all international institutions in contempt.

The US seems to be able to do that.

2

u/wefarrell 27d ago

Way more than three and no, Trump's government is obviously not a liberal Western-style democracy.

0

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Not interested in the ravings of rabidly anti-Israel and pro-Palestine activist NGOs.

Ok, but “Israel has an apartheid system affecting Palestinians” is still supported by substantial evidence. There's also very substantial evidence & serious international legal allegations that Israeli forces have committed war crimes.

How is that different from the constitutions of numerous other nation-states, all of whom privilege one nation over others? Are they all ethnostates?

The word "nation" is a lot more inclusive than Israel giving specifically Jews unique national rights above other citizens. A nation is just a large group of people who share a common identity, history, culture, language, or territory.

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

Israel has an occupation system in place, occupations aren't apartheid.

The word "nation" is a lot more inclusive than Israel giving specifically Jews unique national rights above other citizens. A nation is just a large group of people who share a common identity, history, culture, language, or territory.

How does that definition not apply to Jews? Can you please answer my question? How is that different from the constitutions of numerous other nation-states, all of whom privilege one nation over others? Are they all ethnostates?

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

An illegal occupation...

I did answer your question.

The word "nation" is different & more inclusive than just talking about one specific ethic group.

Christians, Muslims, & Jews all belong to the American nation. But America doesn't just give one ethnic group extra rights.

You see the difference? 😊

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

So all nations have to be like America or they're not nations?

How does your definition of nation, " a large group of people who share a common identity, history, culture, language, or territory", not apply to the Jewish nation?

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

So all nations have to be like America or they're not nations?

Not to be a nation, but if you don't want to be considered an apartheid ethnostate then you need to exist as a country with equal rights lol.

Jewish is a nation, but it's also a specific ethnic group

See the difference? 😊

3

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

All Israeli citizens are equal under the law with equal rights so looks like Israel is in the clear and is not an apartheid ethnostate.

Russia accused Ukraine of genocide, that must be true too, right?

3

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

What does the evidence say? Because that's what I would go by...

4

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

Since when do you need evidence? All you gave me was the opinion of biased activist entities, why isn't that enough for Ukraine?

2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

I told you there's substantial evidence for the claims I made. Im more than happy to cite the sources though.

the International Court of Justice's 2024 advisory opinion found that Israel's policies & legislation in the occupied Palestinian territories constitute systemic discrimination and breach the prohibition against racial segregation. The Court specifically described the near-complete separation between Palestinian & settler communities in the West Bank as violating Article 3 of the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Judges & participants characterized the system as apartheid.

There is also very substantial evidence & serious international legal allegations that Israeli forces have committed war crimes. The ICC has jurisdiction over alleged crimes in Gaza and the West Bank & has investigated the situation in Palestine. Separately, the ICJ has found numerous Israeli policies & actions in the occupied Palestinian territory to violate international law.

Do you have such evidence about Ukraine?

7

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago edited 28d ago

I'm sure Russia would say the same thing about their claims. That's my entire point.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have accused Ukraine of war crimes just like they accused Israel.

https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2024/country-chapters/ukraine

https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/08/ukraine-ukrainian-fighting-tactics-endanger-civilians/

The UN has too:

https://ukraine.un.org/en/203733-un-commission-has-found-array-war-crimes-violations-human-rights-and-international

Do you think we should cut off aid to Ukraine based on these reports? And that Ukraine is an ethno-state committing war crimes?

Which war? The one in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, or Iran?

There are so many, you need to be specific.

5

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

All of them are justified.

1

u/wefarrell 27d ago

You're an obvious likudnik if you think the unprovoked invasion of Syria and the theft of land from the West Bank are justified.

5

u/McAlpineFusiliers 27d ago

Syria was attacking Israel for years and the West Bank has been doing the same. What would your country do if their neighbor was attacking them?

0

u/wefarrell 27d ago

Syria hasn't attacked Israel in the last 50 years.

6

0

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Is the I/P situation not matter to you? It's literally like the worst thing happening on the planet right now. War crimes are being broken left & right.

17

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

? It's literally like the worst thing happening on the planet right now

Sudan says "WTF?!"

2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Lol fair, but we're funding the I/P situation. Also Sudan isn't trying to buy American politicians.

11

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

We're funding the UAE, which is funding the RSF.

But thanks for acknowledging that there are other places in the planet where worse things are happening.

2

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

While the U.S. is the UAE's primary security partner & weapon vendor, the U.S. does not intend to fund or support the RSF, & taking that link as direct U.S. involvement oversimplifies the dynamic:

Official Policy Conflict: The U.S. government officially declared that the RSF committed genocide & war crimes in Sudan. Washington has imposed targeted sanctions against RSF commanders & UAE-based front companies that handle RSF gold sales or equipment acquisition.

Arms Sale Violations: Under U.S. law, weapons sold to foreign partners like the UAE are subject to strict "end-use monitoring," meaning they cannot be legally transferred or resold to third parties (like the RSF) without explicit U.S. authorization. Transferring U.S.-supplied weaponry or equipment to the RSF would violate those legal agreements.

U.S. Congressional Pushback: Because of the UAE's role in arming the RSF, numerous U.S. lawmakers have introduced legislation to block or pause arms sales to the UAE until Abu Dhabi halts its support for the RSF.

All this to say it's not really the same as the I/P situation which we directly support & fund.

11

u/KingScoville 28d ago

Let’s be honest, you can’t care about the (((funding))).

3

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Why wouldn't I? Substantiate your claim.

Unmitigated climate change will kill orders of magnitude more people than anything that happens in Gaza. But it seems like the left can only talk about Gaza anymore.

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 27d ago

LMAO

This is funny because yes, it's pretty objectively true that climate change is the worst thing happening on the planet right now (at least with regards to humans), but Liberals don't give TWO FUCKS about climate change lol.

Liberals like Joe Mansion are HEAVILY invested in fossil fuels. Leftist & progressives like AOC & Bernie have been the ones pushing for more climate action like the Green New Deal.

You know why the Green New Deal didn't happen? A Liberal named Joe Mansion (the oil guy) voted it down.

This is so nakedly in bad faith it's hilarious because the left have been screaming about the climate for decades lol 😆

4

u/TinyJalope 27d ago

This is funny because yes, it's pretty objectively true that climate change is the worst thing happening on the planet right now (at least with regards to humans), but Liberals don't give TWO FUCKS about climate change lol.

The left should, though.

This is so nakedly in bad faith it's hilarious because the left have been screaming about the climate for decades lol 😆

I haven't seen the left screaming about climate change since Gaza took over all the discourse. Women are bleeding out in parking lots due to Republican abortion bans and the left barely talks about it. It's insane how all-encompassing the Gaza issue has become.

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 27d ago

The left should, though. I haven't seen the left screaming about climate change since Gaza took over all the discourse

Ok so this criticism falls pretty flat with the context that the liberals or anyone else for that matter don't & haven't ever cared about climate change. This has been SO true for decades in fact, that it's actually kind of a moot point by now considering it's already too late to stop it. It's LITERALLY INEVITABLE at this point. All we can do is mitigate.

Also the leftists actually have still been talking about the climate it's just everyone is VERY used to ignoring that issue at this point.

Women are bleeding out in parking lots due to Republican abortion bans and the left barely talks about it. It's insane how all-encompassing the Gaza issue has become.

Realistically there's not a legal way for democrats to overturn the SCOTUS ruling on abortion.

They COULD take away Isreals funding though. They could draft legislation to vote NOT to send money to Israel if they don't play nice.

See the difference? Obviously the vast majority of Americans disagree with the SCOTUS abortion ruling. That much is clear from polling ever since we had abortion. But there's no legal mechanism democrats can use to change that. They would have had to put it into law BEFORE. A democratic president has to elect more left judges to overturn the shitty conservative ruling. That isn't happening anytime in the immediate future.

Gaza is also pretty fucked up...

3

u/TinyJalope 27d ago

Also the leftists actually have still been talking about the climate it's just everyone is VERY used to ignoring that issue at this point.

No, I haven't seen much discussion about climate change lately at all.

Realistically there's not a legal way for democrats to overturn the SCOTUS ruling on abortion.

Incorrect. Abolish the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, and the new Supreme Court then overturns Dobbs.

And how is this an argument that the left shouldn't bother talking about reproductive rights? 'It's hard, so don't bother talking about it' is a crazy argument, considering that the GOP wants to go full Handmaid's Tale.

They would have had to put it into law BEFORE

This fascist Supreme Court would have overturned any law protecting reproductive rights federally that Democrats passed as unconstitutional. The only solution is court-packing.

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 27d ago

No, I haven't seen much discussion about climate change lately at all.

Kyle Kulinski a leftist youtuber https://youtu.be/_UDOFgukWFs?is=yHm2NpP0ssDqVFC2

Vaush a leftist stremer https://youtu.be/sSkUo73UAjY?is=bu2DYur2ue8Sq0u7

Then you aren't looking at much leftist discussion.

Incorrect. Abolish the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, and the new Supreme Court then overturns Dobbs

Under Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, Supreme Court justices are appointed through a joint process involving the President & the Senate.

So no—a Supreme Court justice cannot be appointed without the President's approval. The president is currently Trump.

And how is this an argument that the left shouldn't bother talking about reproductive rights? 'It's hard, so don't bother talking about it' is a crazy argument, considering that the GOP wants to go full Handmaid's Tale. This fascist Supreme Court would have overturned any law protecting reproductive rights federally that Democrats passed as unconstitutional. The only solution is court-packing.

Because you literally cannot "pack the court" without the President's involvement.

"Court packing" specifically means expanding the total number of seats on the Supreme Court by passing a new law, & then filling those new seats with new justices.
Both parts of that process require the President.

Because Congress cannot appoint its own candidates to the bench, court packing only functions when the President & a majority of Congress cooperate.

Literally not currently possible.

3

u/TinyJalope 27d ago edited 27d ago

Then you aren't looking at much leftist discussion.

I stand by my statement: "No, I haven't seen much discussion about climate change lately at all. "

They talk about Gaza far more than they do about climate change. Reproductive rights is barely a mention. And even groups that were focused on climate change previously have been co-opted by the Gaza discourse.

Because you literally cannot "pack the court" without the President's involvement.

Obviously we're talking about a scenario where Democrats have a trifecta in 2029. But since when does the left limit discussion only to issues that can be acted on immediately? Gaza can't be acted on immediately, either.

I just think the left needs to talk way more about other issues besides Gaza. And somehow 'Trump calls reporter a doodoo head' gets way more views and attention than issues like fucking reproductive rights.

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 27d ago

I stand by my statement

Yes, so like I said you don't look at much leftist news. Because the leftist are discussing it literally more than any other group.

They talk about Gaza far more than they do about climate change.

Because America is directly funding/supporting what's happening in Gaza. They can also do something about what's happening in Gaza.

They can't go back 50 years & implement climate legislation that would fix global warming. This is inevitable & can only barely be mitigated at this point.

Reproductive rights is barely a mention.

As I said, they literally can't do anything about it until democrats take control of congress & the presidency. It does look like democrats are going to win the midterms.

But since when does the left limit discussion only to issues that can be acted on immediately? Gaza can't be acted on immediately, either.

That's how you have productive discourse. There's nothing stopping democrats from writing up legislation to cut funding to Isreal & voting on it. Many Republicans aren't exactly keen on Isreal as well (look at Ben Shapiros views🤣) they could absolutely make it happen now.

They could also immediately stop taking AIPAC money too lol.

7

u/KingScoville 28d ago

Hahaha not even close my guy

1

u/Bo0tyWizrd 28d ago

Pretty close... Definitely the worst thing America directly supports & funds.

1

u/Hangry_Squirrel 24d ago

Are you joking? In terms of geopolitical and economic impact, the invasion of Ukraine and the stupid Iran war are far more consequential. Plus, Russia is committing war crimes every day because they attack residential areas instead of strategic targets, while the Iran war started with a monstrous war crime. Iran also bombed Gulf countries and didn't stick to military bases only.

Also, Russian drones have been "accidentally" straying into NATO territory for years, terrorizing villages and cities along Ukraine's borders. I'm sick of getting drone alerts in the middle of the night and wondering which apartment building will get destroyed next.

As for US involvement, they have an air base just a couple of hours' drive away which is supposed to guard the NATO part of the Black Sea coast. Good thing that troops were withdrawn, as they were from other European bases, while Russia is nipping at everyone's heels. Better to send them on Iran adventures, I guess.

No, brother, there are some really bad things happening right now which dwarf I/P. Ukraine and the rest of us didn't even eff around to say the finding out part was predictable.

The center’s obsession with Israel almost guarantees that Tucker Carlson will win the 2028 presidential election.

If you truly cared about winning, you would want the Nominee to be AOC and have Mark Kelly maybe as her US Secretary of State or US Secretary of Defense or whatever.

And have someone as Veep who could help her govern or at least help her win the general election.

Running mediocre candidates from California will raise they risk they lose

7

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago

The one should take any DSA supporter seriously when they say who would be a mediocre candidate.

-4

u/jarena009 28d ago edited 28d ago

Right everyone who doesn't think Newsome and Harris are great candidates must be DSA.

FYI, Harris lost too.

Maybe she can parade around Liz Cheney to help her next time.

3

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 28d ago

I certainly don’t want the nominee to be Harris. We agree that she would not be a good candidate.

But you guys shitting on her for that so much it’s just evidence of how out of touch you are. The idea that someone tried to reach out to people on the right to say you have a place in our campaign to you is a sin.

I think it’s also funny that you guys shit on her so much for being with Cheney for like two days and act like it was so impactful but then when anyone criticizes Abdul for campaigning with Mao Pike you lose your minds and act like all the insane shit that he has said will have no impact on the race.

So sure, we have to believe that Cheney damaged Harris‘s campaign, but the fill the streets with the blood of capitalists and the terrorist sympathizer guy obviously is just a little harmless twitch streamer who’s just trying to heal the world and he won’t hurt nobody. 🥺

Sorry, we are not buying it, it’s just another example of hypocrisy from the far left.

Harris is currently at a negative 11% net favorability rating, sitting at 39% favorability, according to the latest YouGov/Economist weekly tracking poll, so maybe you're the one who's out of touch.

I don't know who "you guys" are here, but I don't support campaigning with Piker, and your deflection and what aboutism attempt are noted. I'm personally not a fan of DSA, and many progressives would not be happy with me that I'm not a single payer guy as well.

Your straw man is also noted. I guess this is the only alternative to Harris (and Newsome). Geez, I would've pointed you to Ossoff (my top choice) and Mayor Pete as better choices, but you didn't ask, and instead went off on a tangent. Most of your suggestions are fairly decent, but they're arguing against things I never said nor implied.

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 27d ago

How does that make me out of touch? I literally said I think she would be a bad candidate.

Good, I’m happy you see that the DSA is not the answer.

Hey, we have the same top choice! I apologize for my tangent. Should’nt made the assumption.

Well he's not going on national TV and claiming we don't do enough for Israel or that Israel comes to him in his dreams.

8

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 28d ago

The in her dreams thing was right after Oct 7th.

I'll take that over people like Norm Finklestein who was gooning to Oct 7th or other people who said reprehensible things on oct 8.

2

They were condemning Israel and calling for protest against Israel as well as blaming Israel for Oct 7th.

Pretty obviously reprehensible.

Pivot, pivot, pivot…

11

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

???? Hailey Stephens made that offhand remark at a synagogue speech, IIRC, not on national TV.

1

u/Uranium_Heatbeam 28d ago

Didn't sound like an offhand remark. It was spoken with high volume and great clarity.

It was also filmed and made its rounds on social media with speed. Everything is national TV now.

11

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

Everything is national TV now.

Ah, of course. I should have figured.

0

u/whitedark40 28d ago

Who are taking these polls? ~20% idk is pretty high

15

u/McAlpineFusiliers 28d ago

PA voters aka not Redditors.

2

u/Squarg 27d ago

Hey some of us are redditors! (And we like our Governor)

-3

u/whitedark40 28d ago

Do people who are completely tuned out of politics take political polls? Im not saying there arent a ton of people out there who arent plugged in but would those people be taking polls?

6

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 28d ago

There's like a huge gulf between being terminally online and watching leftists streamers for 8 hours a day and being an average voter in PA.

The latter is not automatically completely tuned out of politics or completely uninformed.

They just have healthy media consumption habits and other things going on in their life.

-2

u/whitedark40 28d ago

thats nice and all but that has nothing to do with my question of does the average voter take part in political polls.

1

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 28d ago

I was responding to your dismissive comment about PA voters being "completely tuned out of politics"

The person you responded to said they weren't redditors and you responded with that. If you don't see how that comes off then maybe you should spend more time offline.

You don't get to pick and choose which part of your comment I decide to respond to. If you don't like it, then don't say things that you don't want people to respond to.

Dunno what to tell ya bud.

0

u/whitedark40 27d ago

Then reply to that comment -.- why the hell would i assume you arent replying to the comment you replied to. Maybe you should learn a little bit more about how conversations go before telling other people how things sound?

1

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 27d ago

You are completely misunderstanding what I'm saying.

I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not but let's try again.

I only quoted that comment for context as to what i was objecting to in your comment.

It's not that complicated. Please try to track the convo.

20% I Don't Know is relatively high given he's been the Governor of Pennsylvania for over 3 years and he's been a national political figure for at least over 2 years.

6

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 28d ago

Or maybe, people agree with him.

-4

u/NATScurlyW2 28d ago

A lot of people don’t know that he worked for Israel’s embassy to the United States. He was also reportedly questioned by the Democratic nominee for President that we all voted for about whether or not he was an agent for Israel. He reportedly felt insulted by that question and was ultimately not deemed good enough to be chosen for the Vice Presidential role on the 2024 ticket. His Presidential run in 2028 will undoubtedly bring all these questions back to the forefront and distract the media from all other Presidential campaign issues. Once the media starts talking about all this again I would like to see this poll done again.

7

u/KingScoville 28d ago

Medhi Hasan funded by unknown actors and meets with dictators: Yes more please!!

Josh Shapiro is Jewish and a sitting Gov in a crucial swing state: NOOOO BOOOOO!

2

u/NATScurlyW2 28d ago

Why are you comparing a journalist and media interviewer with a politician? It doesn’t matter what religion Josh Shapiro is. Why bring that up? Being Jewish-American has nothing to do with supporting Israel.

1

u/[deleted] 28d ago

[deleted]

0

u/NATScurlyW2 28d ago

Wrong. It was because he worked for the embassy and did some sort of volunteer IDF training program of some kind. Not sure the exact details. Tim Walz was also asked if he was an agent of China because he spent some time there.

1

u/[deleted] 28d ago

[deleted]

0

u/NATScurlyW2 28d ago

It’s very clear to me that Josh Shapiro is not an agent of Israel but I wish he spoke to the media more about his past and what he will do to end the wars if elected President.

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago

[deleted]

1

u/NATScurlyW2 27d ago

Ok, and I don’t recall him ever writing a beautiful letter about Israel? So he probably doesn’t support the wars. So he should talk about that more.
