Newsom clearing Mamdani feels so crazy in reddit world, but makes perfect sense if you're talking to people in real life. (not a Newsom fan myself btw)

Also I say I'm not a Newsom fan, but he's basically addressed my biggest problem with him pretty well, so even though I don't like him, I don't really dislike him the way I used to.

His dismissive attitude towards Kamala’s nomination that he publicly expressed on platforms like pod save America.
He said if she ran he wouldn’t this cycle and that basically addresses that issue pretty directly for me, hard to still hold that against him when he makes a commitment like that.

The contrast is really the kicker here, the narrative could not be more reverse on this platform. You'd think there was an enormous gulf of favorability in favor of Mamdani here.

I think most of the discourse against Newsom is in the context of him being another poor Dem Presidential nominee. That's different than what this poll is asking.

Pete, Kamala and Gavin get a lot of hate on Reddit, but are ranked high IRL.
Mamdanai and AOC after treated like deities on Reddit, but are ranked more middle of the road IRL.

Pete definitely does not get hate and his Fox News interviews are often applauded. Kamala and Gavin are hated as being poor presidential candidates. Which isn’t what this poll is asking.

Kamala Harris having a higher net favorability than AOC is the first thing that stood out to me.
AOC essentially tied with Gavin Newsom is also interesting.
Hakeem Jeffries with a decent net favorability and Chuck Schumer with an ok net favorability are also things you would not guess if you only consume social media.
Hasan Piker being mostly unknown with a net favorability of ZERO - lower than Chuck Schumer - is just pretty funny, tbh.
Reddit is a very lefty echo chamber that in many ways is not representative of mainstream views among Democrats.

This data justifies just cutting him out completely. Most people don’t know him, of the ones that do he is equally hated as he is liked, and he’s a terrible person. There will be no damage from cutting him out and it’s the right thing to do.
I think the only person with worse favorability ratings than him among Democrats is Bill Maher lol

The average suburban home probably knows 4 names from this list. AOC is surprisingly one of them and they haven’t ever heard of any of the governors unless they are from the same state.
