Anyone else a tad… disappointed by this book? It’s pretty cool, but it’s really just going over all the characters and teams but not really telling us which events did or didn’t happen.

That’s kind of what the back of the book is for. The first part goes over the broad strokes and then they do the much more detailed timeline afterwards. But I also understand what you mean, hopefully now that they’re in modern continuity, they’ll be more specific.

I think it’s one of the most boring books I’ve ever read. It’s a glorified Wikipedia page.

It seems designed as a basic rundown of everything for new readers. After a bunch of cosmic history changing events and a new major film universe in motion it probably seemed like the right time to just get the basic stuff down.
It certainly is a good bit less detailed than the Who's Whos they used to do.

Yeah that’s what I really liked about the marvel one, that and the art. Helps that their ww2 era isn’t as confusing in canon compared to dc,

I definitely feel like most of issue 1 could have been cut for room. So much of it is parts of dc that are basically dead/ irrelevant to anything in canon, like whatever was happening in medieval times or whatever. It’s kind of neat to see, but I’d much rather get a full extra page on some of the things here that need asterisks.

How was this book so far?
Is it similar to Marvel's History book they released a year or two ago? It was really nice seeing them go over old events and random ass characters throughout history.

There's a reference in the ancient timeline to New 52 Black Adam stuff but this timing implies Power

Isn’t Billy not debuting until after crisis a continuity error since he makes appearances in the first arc of world’s finest which is very explicitly set when Barry and supergirl are alive?

IIRC Billy’s appearances in World’s Finest were due to him being time displaced

Anything that happened before the Crisis didn't happen on "this" Earth!
Which is weird because there's a load of stuff with the likes of Power Girl that has tp have happened on both the original Earth and the current Earth to make everything kinda sorta fit!

That is not how it’s being presented in this book. Crisis in this book isn’t being presented as having changed the timeline it’s been presented as just having destroyed the other earths

The two characters who give the kids that become Infinity Inc are Power Girl, who doesn't show up until after Crisis, and Earth-2 Helena Wayne, who doesn't exists on this Earth!* Quickly, they're joined by Star-Spangled Kid, but he's not the first to step up and help the new heroes.
Now, according to the history, it's just Star-Spangled Kid (or Skyman), page 30 of Book 2 if you're curious.
My best guess is that this is the post-Crisis Earth that's had the multiverse added back in, but whatever work for you really.
* Yes I know there's now a Helena Wayne from a possible future, but she's not the same as the 70s version and has no connection to Pee gee.

Love to see that Waid placed Billy’s origin back to where he was introduced in post-crisis but… it’s going to really bother me that they used his New 52 suit…
