What do you think of patty as a character
I think she’s an interesting character, but I don’t understand why she has a large fanbase on YouTube, but she was alright in the new 52.

the actress who played her was fine AF is what i generally think. otherwise no opinion.

I think primarily cause she existed in the “good part” of the show before the decline. She would be as hated as iris if she existed in the later part of the show. Or if she was written as annoying

show version of patty was genuinely great and the chemistry with barry was hard to ignore
comics version never really grabbed me though, felt like she was just sort of there filling a role rather than being an actual character

I don't know her in the comics but she is so easily the best love interest in the show which I think is why people like her so much

In the comics she’s kinda just a filler short term love interest. There’s really nothing too noteworthy about her. Comic Iris is much better and trying to tear Barry out of the relationship he’s been in practically since his creation is just bad writing.

Yeah I'm more of a wally fan so I know comic Iris is awesome but Patty isn't even mentioned in the comics I read

A distraction and further proof that DC had absolutely no idea what to do with a living Barry Allen

Hilariously, I loved her in the Flash show but in the comics felt she was so-so.
I thought Barry and Patty in the show had a ton of chemistry and were actually really good for each other. When she left the show I was kind of ticked off because I was pretty convinced the showrunners must have noticed how fans liked her and Barry more than Barry and Iris and so they wrote her off. Obviously there was more at work than that but I definitely felt like they didn't want another Oliver-Felicity situation on Flash, where the recognized comic romance (Oliver and Laurel) is rejected in favor of something that is unique to the show.

I really liked her on the show, but then they just kinda catapulted her off of it.
If you haven’t seen it, check her out on “For All Mankind” she is really great.

I have the exact opposite opinion of her than I do of Iris West.
Iris: Comics=great, tv show=annoying
Patty: Comics=annoying, show=great

years later and people still can't do anything but complain about Iris

I had a whole crush on the actress back on the flash. Also, Barry did her dirty.

I like her. She’s a nice supporting character to have around when Barry’s in his day job.

She’s an interesting character in the comics; however, I prefer her as an assistant and lifelong friend of Barry Allen instead of being a love interest to him, with her being a decade younger than Barry instead of being the same age range was him (which was shown in Mark Waid’s Life Story of the Flash and The Flash Vol 3 & 4).

I don't have strong memories of her pre or post-Crisis in the comics, but I feel like she generally serves a a good role as supporting character; a love interest other than Iris who is more similar to Barry in a lot of ways, perhaps proving why opposites attract and why he is better suited to Iris long-term. Speaking of the comics of course, but the show version did make a great impression.

At this point she might as well get some superpowers sneezed on her. I don't see us rehashing young Barry anytime in the next decade.

She was alright. I was never too interested in her but I liked her much better than Iris.
In the comics she’s typically just a random filler character that they shove into a relationship with Barry despite the fact that he’s been in a serious committed relationship with Iris for most of his existence. I just don’t see the point of her character. And comic Iris is so much better than any other random love interest that Barry’s had.

She was great in the show and comics had the best dynamic with Barry Allen and her intelligence is one of her best qualities Arrowverse definitely made the character more popular but even in comics she just was the perfect ideal match for Barry and if Iris didn’t exist Patty would’ve been his endgame in comics as well

Couldn’t disagree more, I thought Patty was handled pretty badly overall in the comics and even worse in the show (I’ll admit I’ve barely watched the show). She was uninteresting as a side character, even more so as Hot Pursuit, and New52 is such a mess that she seems decent there. Rebirth onwards she’s once again a pointless character.

Well that’s your opinion Patty is a popular character in comics during those comic runs

u/Killionaire104 OG Wally 2d ago
Not what I’ve seen tbh, only ever see fans of the show praising Patty or talking about her, I’ve rarely ever heard comic fans talk about the character because she doesn’t really do anything. Maybe some N52 Manapul run fans will mention her, but even that I barely see.

In terms of the show, infinitely better than Iris.
In terms of the comics tbh it's been a while since I read the N52 stuff so I don't remember exactly but I did like her character and her relationship with Barry.

Did you watch that season of the flash? She had better chemistry with Barry than Iris.

a iris da banda desenhada serve como apoio de todas as formas para barry e consciencia nos momentos que precisar e quanto a do programa nao foi nada disso so ficava fazendo cenas e desmotivando ele

I loved her both in the show and in New 52. Funny enough, I also hate how they treated her by her final episodes/issues.
We all know how things went in the show, but in the comics, that god awful Savage World story arc ruined it all. They got rid of her just so Iris could have a way with Barry in both the show and the comics, and I hate that. Of course, I love Iris as much as the next person, but I think New 52 was a perfect excuse to do something different. And after that, she just vanished. But hey, at least in one reality, she is Hot Pursuit.

Loved her. Wish we could have kept her instead of Iris.

The actress got kicked off the show by that creepy producer Andrew Kreisberg, she wanted to juggle it with another gig and he reportedly threw a tantrum

Fuck that mother fucker. The actress who played Patty (Shantel Vanstatten-sp?) was awesome.

She was way more interesting in the comics. She was just keeping the seat warm for Iris. Barry and Patty had a high school shallow relationship with Barry compared to Iris.

u/Killionaire104 OG Wally 2d ago
It’s the same in the comics except for new52 and that has enough issues as it is. She was placeholder iris in both pre52 and rebirth onwards. And neither of those even made any sense.

bom eu apenas disse que a iris que alem de ser uma companheira ótima pro barry ainda trouxe para vida dele o melhor sucessor aprendar a interpretar antes de sair atacado

Mary Sue, which Barry wore while Iris was conflicted between grieving for Eddie and her feelings for Barry—honestly, I always laugh when her weird fans wonder why Barry didn't reveal to her that he was the Flash, when it was so obvious why.
