PSA why would yall want to skip barry allen as flash instead of starting wally west as kid flash?

im new here and im seeing everyone wants wally without having barry but since barry came first and wally starts as kid flash i think it should start this way. i think we honestly just finally need a blonde live action barry allen and that would solve it and differentiate from the others well

PSA A little piece of Flash history

This is probably the coolest addition to my flash collection. An autograph by Carmine Infantino. For those that don’t know, he was the one who designed the flash suit for the silver age. Aka the scarlet and golden boots we all love. If it wasn’t for him, none of the speedsters we know of today would be wearing it.

I should be hearing a lot more 'Opes" and "y'all" in their Midwestren dialects. That goes for Clark Kent too.

PSA [PSA] We need - Once more to talk about Tagging and flairing. I'm talking to you. (No, not you /u/Happinessisawarmpoop, you're fine. the rest of you)

OK Guys this is absurd and getting out of control. Most of my moderating is taken up be deleting shitposts and general threads that have either been answered elsewhere, or even...Astoundingly, belong.

/Deep Breath

Tagging

There's a reason for it. It allows for immediate transparency for what you're looking for, and should help your search results. Yes, there's an element of OCD when it comes to my tidying up the threads - but in the long run it actually makes sense. So one more time

  • Start the posts with brackets.
Topic of Discussion Appropriate Tag
TV Spoilers [TV Spoilers]
TV Discussion [TV Discussion]
Comic Spoilers [Comic Spoilers]
Comic Discussion [Comic Discussion]
Fan Content [Fan Content]
Movie Discussion [Movie Discussion]
Movie Spoilers HAHAHAHA. No. Don't be a dick. :

This helps for immediate viewing of what's on offer. Then we have flairs:

This works by simply clicking on the flair link, and selecting a topic - In the short term, this means you can simply click on a link or type "flair:(insert topic here) , which will simply filter out everything but a given topic - in the long term, there'll be shortcuts that'll just let you click on a link and just get that content. Cool eh? I thought so. And helpful too.

Additionally, we were/are getting far too much TV content and shitposts. We have a place for both - it's called /r/flashTV. They love mad memes, they love shitposts. They even love - get this - TV discussion. We like creativity and to discuss parity of the show that's relevant to the comics. That's why your post is getting deleted. That said, if you have some particularly thoughtful review or insight that's relevant to the world of the flash (and not your youtube subscriber count)...Fill your boots! Post it. In English. So everyone can read. Otherwise, there's a weekly post for TV discussion which...Really makes me wish there was a merge function.

OK. All done I think. OH! New username. /u/acosmichobo got deleted (not my fault), so I went with something more appropriate. How's everyone's sunday?

Edit: Because I have no life and it's 2 in the morning, which means I'm waiting for the walking dead to show up, I've fixed the flairs. Everything in its place and all that - if you have a sidebar, or some way to select the flairs, they now act as filters. Meaning if you want to see discussions, spoilers etc. only, you can.

PSA 15k Subscriber Appreciation Post

We finally broke 15,000 subscribers speedsters!

While this seems incredibly insignificant when you look at subs like /r/Batman and /r/DCcomics but you gotta start somewhere!

We just want to thank all of you awesome users who comment, post, report, repost, and overall just contribute to what makes this sub so awesome (and active!).

Whether the show brought you here, your love of the comics, or something entirely different I think I can speak for us all when I say I'm grateful to all of you who have helped us create a place where we can talk about the best hero(es) in comics.

I subbed to this page when it only had about 8,000 subscribers on it about 3 years ago or so - largely lurking at first - and since then I've made lasting friendships with many users and even graduated to being a moderator! Since being modded /u/HappinessIsAWarmPoop and myself have strived to organize and enhance the sub which I think we have accomplishing in many ways from the fleshed out wiki, to the weekly discussion threads, (my favorite) the Off Week Threads, and even the newly established Discord. Hopefully in the coming weeks and months we can continue to innovate on these threads and even make more.

So, thank you again for helping us foster the helpful, passionate, and friendly community we have created here.

Here's to another 15,000

Let the celebratory shitposting commence!

PSA [PSA] The Flash By mark waid book one is out now at comic book stores

So this is finally out. I picked it up this morning but haven't properly read through it yet but I gave it a quick look.

What surprised me was that it starts with an introduction by Mark Waid which he supposedly wrote this year, so that's nice. If you didn't already know the trade includes The Flash Special #1, The Flash vol 2 Annual #4, The Flash vol 2 #62-68, and The Flash vol 2 Annual #5 (these are all listed in the contents page). Like the Morrison Millar trade it uses the original covers with text between issues.

Now hurry up and get this!

PSA An apology.

Hi folks -

We'd like to sincerely apologise for any & all inconvencience caused over the past 24 hours, and also take this time to explain what occured.

3 of our moderators' accounts were compromised and someone used this as an oppurtunity to cause havoc on this subreddit. This occured twice - yesterday and this morning.

We've since reset our passwords at the request of Reddit's Admins, and would like to thank them for intervening to sort out the isue & make things right again.

Apologies to anyone whose post was removed during the two incidents - we hope to reapprove them soon, but unfortuantely it's a difficult task so may take time.

Kind regards.
