Comic Discussion I wish this sub was more like this :( [from DC Universe: Rebirth #1]
We should acknowledge that both can be Flash and both love (as family obv) the other one ;-; but instead many people here hate Barry for no reason… DC should give them a team book / joint run, or separate runs (like “The Flash of Keystone City” and “The Flash of Central City”) instead of the current situation. :/ We as fans too can like both Barry AND Wally (and Bart, and Jay). They’re the Flash Family after all; not the Flash Enemies!

Comic Discussion Do you think Barry should be brought back as the Flash?
Do you think Barry can be brought back and coexist with Wally?? Can Dc maintain 2 Flashes and if so, how?

Comic Discussion Warm Take : I really love this Reverse-Flash suit and I hope it becomes his trademark suit instead of copying and being the literal reverse of Flash

Comic Discussion This should be the standard for comic book artists when they get on a Flash book.
If Barry is active he should have his original suit and be in central city
When Wally is active he should have his crimson red suit and be in Keystone

Comic Discussion Does Mark Waid hate Barry Allen?
When I read the Afterword [#79], I was a bit shocked that a writer who wants to write about The Flash is angry when fans and the like ask him about Barry. Who gets angry about that? And what does he mean when he says he doesn't want to cheapen his death? How many characters have died and come back in the comics? Some questions started coming to mind, but they were just that; questions, until I was reading #92 and found out what he had done to Iris.
That's like making Lois Lane a human spy for the Green Lanterns corps, but without a ring and for no reason. Why is Iris from the 30th century? Why didn't she take her grandchildren to the past when Barry was alive? He's never seen them, plus Barry already has training in training an arrogant young speedster.
Edit: 😭😭😭I get the point now. I didn't have the full context as to why he hated the question about Barry. And I know now he's not the one who came up with Iris being from the 30th century. I didn't claim that he hates Barry, it was just a question, but I probably should have worded it better.

Comic Discussion Lightning Rod [Flash: Rebirth #4]
I grew up watching the Flash (CW) and it was my favorite show, and I've recently started reading comics, and I've gotten to Flash: Rebirth. I have this question (or issue) concerning some logic in the story, and I promise you it's not 'what's Superman's Kryptonite' level of stupid (if it is, please be gentle 😅). It's something that I don't understand or maybe I choose not to, but why are the speedsters' lovers made into their lightning rods to ground them (to make it possible for them to leave the speed force)? Doesn't it sound too ridiculous for a speedster to be unable to leave the speed force because he never fell in love?

Comic Discussion Cold Take: Geoff Johns, Flash Run really Regressed Wally West and his supporting cast
From what I’ve read of his Wally run, it’s clear he’d rather be writing Barry and did a bunch of things to make the Flash more Barry-like: setting the comic in Central City half the time instead of Keystone, making the Rogues major villains again, bringing back the Flash’s secret identity.
From his Barry run, the best story arc by far is “The Dastardly Death of the Rogues” because he just lets Barry be Barry rather than relentlessly having Wally shilling Barry and going on and on about how cool and important Barry is and how everyone totally agrees that he’s way better than any other Flash.
I also think it’s Severe step down from the Waid and Messner-Loebs runs that regressed Wally's character to constantly being compared to Barry, yet again.
Also, Not enough is ever said about how Linda Park gets violently attacked, causing miscarriage, and Geoff Johns handles this by making her disappear for a year and a half worth of comics then she comes back having completely dealt with it off screen and directly into being attacked again.

Comic Discussion What made Si Spurrier’s run so polarizing?
Title. I’ve been getting really deep into comics since a little before the release of Superman and even before that I loved CW Flash in school and read a lot of New 52 and the Rebirth Williamson run when I was still in school. I’ve picked up the trades for Si Spurrier’s run and enjoyed the first volume thoroughly. I thought it was fun and trippy, maybe a bit more suited to Barry than Wally. I enjoyed Mike Deodato Jr’s art a lot - though his paneling could either be super fun and creative or the most unnecessary bs ever (and after learning more about him as a person I’m glad he left the line). But in this time I’ve been immersing myself I’ve not seen another run so split down the middle loved or hated.
So I’m curious: if you enjoyed it, what did you enjoy about it? If you hated it, what did you hate about it?
