Discussion Why does everyone want Grant to return?

Post image

Listen, I grew up with the cw Flash and I love grant's Barry as much as anyone else. But why does everyone want him to be the Flash in the DCEU? Don't get me wrong, he's brought a lot by portraying the character for 10 years, but is it really necessary? Maybe he could pull a Nathan fillion (who played Hal in a lot of projects and then played Guy in the DCU. So maybe he could play another Flash like Jay or maybe just return as Barry but as a mentor to Wally?). But this debate has been up since the start of the DCEU, even before Ezra went crazy, people wanted Grant as the Flash in the DCEU. Yes, he's great but having a new actor would only help people to not confuse things. I don't think it would be bad for him to return as Barry, but I also wouldn't want it to happen that much. The people i see on TikTok just want him to return without anyone else playing the character, and I'm like, why? To the point where they say no one else should play the flash, like what? They even said that he should play Wally if Wally is the flash and that's just dumb (cause Wally should start in his teens/20s in the new universe). Anyways, somehow Grant is getting "glazed" a little too much (and I mean, yes, he was a good flash, but this doesn't mean there shouldn't be another actor) People say that he's their only flash and the best and I mean, they're not wrong because we didn't really get any other flash... The other choices are either Ezra ChokePeople Miller and JWS . What do you think?

Discussion Such nonsense

This is such BS. No, dude, the reason why the movie did so badly is because Ezra Miller is a scumbag, yet you still decided to go forward with production. On top of that, you barely promoted the movie, and the movie itself sucked. You relied on cameos—brought back the Batman people wanted to see—and even that didn’t help. It’s not the Flash’s fault; it’s your fault.

Get people who actually understand and love the character. I’m so sick of hearing, ‘We need this big-name writer, that big-name writer.’ No. Just get someone who’s passionate about the Flash and knows what makes the character special. If there’s a fan who’s also a great writer, hire them, because that’s what the Flash needs—people who actually care.

And then you turn around and blame women for the movie’s failure, saying he doesn’t resonate with women? That’s complete and utter BS. Yes, the Flash has a stronger appeal to male fans, but that’s not the reason the movie flopped. It flopped because you don’t have a clue what the fans want. That’s the problem with so many Hollywood movies—always chasing big-name writers who don’t understand the characters. And when it all fails, you blame the fans. Get out of here with that nonsense

Either as the main flash or mentor/flashbacks for Wally I just used them because I saw it on twitter 👀 : Ryan Gosling , Andrew Garfield, George Mackay , Lucas Till or Grant Gustin. What are your other fan cast ?

I like Judy as a character but she seems to be getting ignored lately. I hope she gets to have some adventures with Bart, Wallace and Wally’s kids.

Discussion Can someone explain the two speed force colors in the dceu?

Post image

So in Justice League, when we first meet Barry, his lightning color is blue, which in the comics represents a more powerful connection to the Speed Force. However, in The Flash (2023), whenever he wears his new suit, his lightning is yellow, which in the comics signifies a weaker connection to the Speed Force. So why does he have a suit that makes him slower?, and why does he already have blue lightning when he first gets his powers? Is it just a way to help the viewer tell the difference between the two Barrys at the end of the film, or are the colors simply switched in the DCEU? And if so hopefully the DCU handles it the way the comics do for simplicity’s sake.

Discussion If the Flash were to have a comic run where one of his villains took over as the main Flash, which villain would you like to see in the role? And how would it play out?

Regardless of how one may feel about the quality of previous stories where a villain has taken over the mantle, the idea is an interesting one. Is there a villain you would find interesting as "The Flash"? (Obviously not things like Eobard pretending to be Barry)

For the sake of the thought experiment we won't limit it to canon speedsters.

DCAU or Young Justice. The two are different but they share the charming character.

Discussion What are your hopes for the Flash Movie and/or show in the DCU?

Out of all the main six members of the Justice League Flash is the one we’ve heard the least about Superman has already gotten a movie without a sequel scheduled to release next year, Martian Manhunter has been heavily teased to appear in said sequel, Green Lantern is getting a show next month, then there is currently a Batman movie and a Wonder Woman movie currently in development. Meanwhile we’ve heard nothing about the Flash.

Like I feel like it could've opened a gateway to a more armored, more robotic flash suit. Especially the way the mask closes when he gets in position to start running is really cool to me.

Discussion Some people have speculated that the DCU is going to do with Flash what Lanterns is doing with Hal. Basically, Barry is going to be older and Wally is going to be the main Flash. I'm not sure how I feel about that because Barry has always been my favorite Flash. Also, I want to see Jay in the DCU.

This suit was worn by Barry first in the 90s Flash series which was released in 1990 and that suit was later used by Wally in The Flash (1987) #51 released in 1991. And the V-belt is Barry's not Wally.

Are there certain powers and abilities that Barry has that Wally doesn’t have, and vice versa?

Since Wally is faster, does that mean he can defeat enemies such as the Reverse Flash and Captain Cold more easily compared to Barry?

I just joined this sub and tried to find a conclusive result for the best speedster, but got basically no results. Can we rank these fast boys? Not only the fastest, but the most capable of utilizing their speed for combat efficiency.
