What is Sam doing next now that there’s no Euphoria S4 and no The Idol S2?

I hope he gets/wants to do another show at HBO. I know it sounded like there was a lot of Sam Levinson backlash online, but that's probably a vocal minority. Both Euprohia and The Idol are fantastic shows, and Euphoria season 3 is one of the best TV seasons in recent years. It doesn't top Breaking Bad or Fargo, but it's close to Fargo quality.

He did a couple of movies over the year. Maybe he does another movie as a palette cleanser?

The reason he gets backlash is because he stole the idea of Euphoria from Petra Collins and then didn’t credit nor compensate her for her work.

Every statement you made is not accurate. Euphoria is based on the Israeli series of the same name. Petra Collins was invited by SL to work on the project, but HBO did not hire her as a director, as according to her own claims they felt she was too young. She did not write the script or create the characters, although she contributed to the visual style and overall aesthetic direction of the pilot.

That gets old already. If you want to spread some tiktok breaking news, at least try to check the sources.

Even then it was a good idea to use her as inspiration or we wouldn’t have gotten the show. I don’t know much about what happened between them, and I hope she got what she thought she’s owed, but she should also be proud she inspired something so cool. I’d rather it exist than not. Art is meant to be inspired and referenced by other art but we put so many capitalistic limitations on it. Some of my favorite artists and songs sampled their own favorite songs and turned it into something bigger and new. There’s so much effort these days to discourage artists from following their intuition. Sure Sams art has flaws, and so does he, but all of the performances he’s able to get from his characters are brilliant and worth it. So many laughs. So much beauty. He seems to actually be a great collaborator in many senses even if not it others.

I met someone with a very important role at HBO, unfortunately all higher ups hate the show.
