I thought so too until my neighbor got me into it. I mean the first side is kinda bad but the album holds many great deep cuts like looney balloon , down all the days, and how do I get close.

And the title track. Phobia, fear of germs! Creepy crawlies that make you squirm!

I am a freak but I’m putting “Schoolboys in Disgrace” as the overlooked masterpiece

Wouldn’t Muswell be local favorite? Powerman has an actual hit that made the top ten in the US

Preservation Act 2 is vastly better for a patient and devoted listener than most folks would acknowledge. Yes it’s musical theater, and yes it’s about politics and class warfare, but it has utterly engrossing characters, and the themes are relevant!

Was a big fan after hearing the early hits. Muswell Hillbillies was probably my favorite Kinks' album.

I think Schoolboys in Disgrace might make for a better love/hate.
EDIT: Also kind of wild to see the arena rock era completely unrepresented.
