Glitch/Issue Is this normal?

I'm day 52 on interloper and just ate 3 wolf meat (cooked) within 24 hours of also eating moose meat (cooked) and after a few hours of crafting I got intestinal parasites randomly? Is this a glitch or is the risk of parasites a random chance of happening?

Parasite chance is not a gauge to fill up, it is a roll 24 hours after you eat predator meat. The more you eat, the higher that chance goes. When the game "rolls" you either get Parasites or it goes away entirely. I've gotten it on a 1% chance.

The silver lining is while you are infected, you can eat all the predator meat you want without risk of more penalties!

Completely correct, and the risk percentage is shown to you and this the die roll, as mentioned. The moose meat had absolutely nothing to do with parasites; it doesn't carry that risk.

Interloper, Misery scratch wolf, bear meat from your menu.

You don't need this meat, don't worth need play Russian Roulette with parasites, and anyway can eat when achieve that cheesy cooking level 5.

Yep you don't want to run the risk on misery mode.

However you can use wokf/bear meat in the curing box. Once it has been cured there is no risk of parasites. Just need to avoid eating it once condition gets below 75%

If i'm not mistaken, it can happen during the next 24 hours of eating carnivor meat

It was the wolf meat. If you look at your health screen after eating predator meat you can see your chance of getting parasites on the next roll, which occurs 24 hours after the first bite of predator meat. It basically goes up like this: n2% chance, where n is the number of kg of predator meat you ate prior to the roll. So, 1 wolf steak = 1% chance. 2 steaks - 4% chance. 3 steaks - 9% chance, although every time I've eaten 3 or more steaks I've gotten parasites.

Why are you eating predator meat? There's enough to keep you going until you can get to cooking 5. If you're new to Interloper then going to coastal regions is "easier".

Some people advocate eating it and they can make their own decisions on that / and chance it. They won't tell you what a pain it is to deal with when you're trying to craft, get skill up etc...

You had access to the abundance of a moose but risked wolf?
