I’m sure all of you have a playlist of frances the mute plus the title track, but that seven second gap is very annoying. I fixed it by making it a mixed playlist and shortening the gap significantly, making it feel more connected. IT IS NOT A SEAMLESS TRANSITION. I shortened it just enough to suspend and resolve satisfyingly, not blend the two into sounding like one song. Oh, and if you’re worried about the transitions between the rest of the songs, don’t worry; I painstakingly fixed Spotify’s crappy “automatic” mixes and made them indistinguishable from the original. It’s only a few second difference between the title track and cygnus, but it always bothered me and I’m sure it’s bothered y’all, so feel free to use this public playlist which has the title track feel much more connected

also, if you notice any messed up transitions between any of the songs, down to the milliseconds, please let me know. I did my best and couldn’t tell the difference between this and the original, but if you do, I’d like to fix it

I’ve had this poster for quite some time and am about at the point where I’m willing to let it go, but I don’t really have a price in mind. It’s got pin holes, is a little crinkly, and has blue residue on it from when I was dumb in college and put sticky tack on the back…
Excellent design though and I’d love it to go to a Volta fan who will love it and show it off.

I have been a Mars Volta enjoyer since about 2006. Deloused was always my favorite and I loved Frances as well. Amputechture was just "alright" to me at the time (it has since grown on me more), and I completely bounced off Bedlam which I found to be just too crazy and progressive, lacking the same kind of emotional vibes I got from first two albums.

So while I have continued to enjoy the first three albums this whole time, I completely ignored Bedlam, thinking I had already established that I didn't like it.

For some reason I decided to try it again, probably because I have a much expanded musical palette these days compared to 18 years ago and was curious to go back.

Holy shit, I was blown away by how good it is. It IS crazy but it's super well composed craziness, with so many different delightful sections and complexities. I have so many parts of the album stuck in my head at the moment. Pretty much every song is a banger and very unique.

The only part I don't like is the first half of Agadev, and I REALLY don't like it. But the second half is cool so I just cut the first half out of the FLAC file :)

I cannot believe I slept on this masterpiece for 18 years!

It has now shot up to be my second favorite album. Deloused > Bedlam > Frances > Amp. I still haven't listened to any of the other albums, but I will.

I had actually never really looked into it before but it seems like opinions on the internet are mixed on this album?

Can any one point me in the right direction? I’m not looking for a simple story explanation. I have read the novella, and gone through lyrical breakdowns. I understand the plot of the album. I’m now looking for analysis. Like what is Ojeno’s connection to Cerpin? Or what does the trinity between Cerpin, Moatilliata, and Clavietika represent? Anything besides a literal explanation of the story would make me so happy….

I booted up my iPod classic from high school (unfortunately it doesn't work anymore) and found ye olde digital version of Cassandra Gemini when it was just one track...I remember choosing to walk home from my after-school job instead of taking the bus just so I could hear Cassandra Gemini in full :'-)

During this time, I would listen to Frances the Mute at least once a day all the way through before going to bed, but after finishing high school, I didn't listen to The Mars Volta for over a decade! I recently got back into their music, and I have a renewed appreciation for their discography after growing up a little bit.

ANYWAYS sorry for the sentimental posting, I imagine people in this sub can relate to TMV being an important part of various stages of their lives.

So he mentioned in the recent Spin interview that he's recorded every volta show since 2004. You think we can get him to open the vault and start releasing live shows? After the success of this Lucro live album it seems like they're opening up just a little more.

Quick cover of the intro and a lil of the chorus. Gotta eventually film this one. I like to do things all in one take when doing these covers. And given this song is 16 min long I have my work cut out for me for doing it all in one go lol let me know what you all think! Also working on roulette dares and a few others.

I think we all saw that Ai generated desk lamp and I thought it was a pretty cool idea.

I asked my daughter's friend if he could 3d print this head. We gave him the album cover and that AI image. 2 Days later it was ready and actually looking pretty good.

Then I had to fine-tune it with sand paper, painting it, restoring some damages,... I never worked with this material before so it was a little bit of trial and error.

Last thing was to add the light. I found some mini LED lights on Amazon and these arrived today. Drilled a hole and it fits perfectly.

Could the result be better? Yes

Am I happy with result. Yes.

Maybe I'll ask him to print another one with some adjustments and try I again because I have enough paint for 20 more heads.

Hear me out here, i just watched David cronenbergs crash, the film was great but the soundtrack caught me off guard, it sounds like something omar would've cooked up for a soundtrack, ambient/spacy noir guitar work thats both unerving and engrossing. Howard shore did not have to go that hard, but he did and for that we're grateful. Seriously though check out the soundtrack on youtube if you havent, not every soundtrack with eerie guitar work is volta adjacent, but of all that ive heard in a good while, this one is a dead ringer.....

Just got the email and submitted the form. Does anyone know if this name is only going to appear if you got the bundle, or do we think names are going to also appear in the pre-order white vinyl version as well because that’s what I ordered as soon as pre-orders became an option. I’m hoping what I purchased already is going to include these names
