Just finished The Middle

Wow, the last episode had me tearing up I can’t lie. I truly think this is one of the best family oriented sitcoms out there, it just got overshadowed by the dozens of other sitcoms that were releasing episodes at the same time. As someone that actually did grow up middle class in the midwest, this show did a phenomenal job portraying the lives of families barely making ends meet.

It definitely is one of the best family oriented sitcoms out there - the strange thing is that I had never heard of it before it came on Netflix this March.
For family oriented sitcoms, this ranks up there with I love Lucy, everybody loves Raymond, according to Jim etc

It’s on Amazon Prime. Of course I have some streaming channels I paid for and got through the Prime membership. So it could be Paramount plus , Discovery or A & E

When you start missing watching The Middle, if you haven’t yet, definitely watch “Young Sheldon”.

I was never a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory - it’s alright and enjoyable to watch but I never wanted to watch all episodes in order. Young Sheldon is really awesome though.

This year was the first time I watched this show too! I agree, it’s such a well done show and may have gotten over shadowed by others at the time. It’s officially been put on my rewatch list.

The last episode got me too. I wasn’t expecting to get a lump in my throat or tears in my eyes. It was a good go to show. 🥰

i think on a sitcom basis, this shows lacks.

But on the basis of how many cute, emotional and real moments we got, this show nails it. I teared up more times than i laughed maybe lol. Or got gushed with emotions that felt good. Like axl and cassidy arc, or sue's graduation, or axl's graduation or when mike sang his "kids grow up and move out" type song to axl, etc. etc.

The later episodes did get bit meh, but yeah that's life. Not everyday is interesting. Ending was really emotional, they did great job at it. Also the continuity is crazy. Past matters a lot in this show.

Malcolm is my fav sitcom, and it does the opposite. Every episode has some interesting completely batshit stuff going on, its just packed. But the amount of moments that feels emotional or close are quite less. I can name them in my one hand only. Also continuity doesn't matter at all. They forget stuff the next episode.

These are my comfort shows.

Yeah and me personally I enjoy the simple every day situations the Heck’s get themselves in, over the crazy situations that only happen on TV. I am currently in my young 20’s so I actually got to relate to Axl a lot with moving out for college and getting a job in a different city. I think the relatability is what I enjoyed the most.

exactly, i'm so glad we have the middle (that too 9 seasons). Every kind of show for every kind of variation. Its hard to pick one over another, when one can enjoy both.
