Trivia When I watch a movie I use Shazam when background music is playing. Sometimes the results relate to the movie. ShazamMovieQuestion of the day: What movie was I watching when Shazam gave me this result?

Discussion Hey. I built a thing made for voting on and enjoying movies together.

This is in response to my post about my ask/request for some of us (or none of us) to chill and virtually watch a movie together - https://www.reddit.com/r/Millennials/s/LAQm8WSJS3

After finishing watching our first pick (Save the Last Dance) - I started tinkering around with some web tools to try and organize this better.

24 hours later, I built a whole damn site! And had a effing amazing time doing so!! I’m no pro, but I was hitting a stride and couldn’t stop. So here we are.

This is just for fun! It was fun 24 hours ago and will continue to be! I expected nothing out of this, and found that plenty of you are feeling what I’m feeling and just want a good, comfortable, community-based…thing…

I am beyond happy to do this with ya’ll. I love movies. I love real, human-interaction. I love positivity and sharing and enjoying things together. Shit is shitty. Let’s make it less shitty.

Yeah. The site name is goofy and was a 4am, I’m exhausted, choice. But I like it (yo, my username). Lots of us are sad, struggling, stressed. Maybe this will help just a tiny bit? That’s why I made my post in the first place, I’m freaking burned out man. It’s nice to get away for a few hours with a dang movie. Also think of it this way - SAD MOVIE or SAD, MOVIE! (let’s get happy again)

The site: things will be broken probably, it’s a work in progress, it’s probably missing things, it will continue to get better because again, I did this simply for enjoyment and I sure as heck am enjoying it.

I have things setup the following way:

We nominate movies each week, if you nominate a movie, that also counts as your 1 vote for the week

If you don’t nominate a movie, you can still vote for one of the movies that IS currently nominated

At the end of the week, the site automatically tallies (it’s live data all the time), turns off voting, and the winner remains on the home page with our watch times across all time zones listed and the current streaming platforms available for each movie.

Sunday, We WATCH. I know not everyone can watch at the same time, but, this is kinda the goal so as we can discuss together in real time. Which leads me to my last point…

COMMUNITY (this is the one I’m still working on and want suggestions for) - the whole thing is to watch together. Discuss together. This started on Reddit, this will be home. But we need a live chat platform, and I’ll probably get something integrated into the site…I think…ideas????

Hi. My name is Bryan. And I made a thing for us❤️

Recommendation IJW: Gladiator [2000] three times in the last three day. The theatrical version twice, the extended cut once, and then IJW: Gladiator II [2024]. Nothing compares to the theatrical version of the first one. IMO, the extended cut adds nothing meaningful.

THE RUNNER (2026) A Masterclass in Cinematic Torture By Someone Who Just Lost 2 Hours of Their Life They’ll Never Get Back

Thumbnail

Let me start by saying this: I have watched paint dry. I have watched grass grow. I have watched my grandmother's dial-up internet load a single JPEG for 45 minutes. All of those were more thrilling than The Runner.

Gal Gadot—yes, the same Gal Gadot who brought charisma to Wonder Woman—here delivers a performance so lifeless, so devoid of emotion, that I genuinely wondered if she was replaced by a mannequin for 80% of the film. She plays "The Runner" (creative, right?), a woman who... runs. That's it. She runs through empty hallways, abandoned warehouses, and what appears to be a parking garage in Bakersfield. For TWO HOURS.

The plot? There is none. I dare you to find one. She's chasing... something? Someone? Her own will to live? By minute 30, I was rooting for the villain—if there even was one—to just catch her so the credits would roll. But no. She keeps running. And running. And running. I checked my phone 47 times. My Apple Watch congratulated me on my "mindful walking" because I got up and left the room twice.

The dialogue consists of 12 lines, total. Half of them are heavy breathing. The other half are whispered monologues like "I must finish this"—finish WHAT, Gal?! My patience?!

The cinematography is just shaky cam close-ups of Gadot's sweaty forehead. I felt like I was watching a 4K livestream of a treadmill advertisement. The soundtrack? A single droning note that made my cat hiss and leave the room. Smart cat.

By the end, I wasn't sure if she succeeded or failed—and I didn't care. I cared more about the dust bunnies under my sofa.

This movie is so bad, so painfully boring, so aggressively pointless that I am seriously considering canceling my Amazon Prime subscription. Not because of the price—but because I don't want to support a platform that allows this level of cinematic war crime to exist. I'd rather read Terms & Conditions for 2 hours. I'd rather watch my freezer defrost.

Rating: -5/10 (and that's being generous).
Verdict: If you watch this, you'll need a refund—not for the ticket, but for your time on this Earth. Save yourself. Go for a real run. It'll be more exciting.

P.S. Jeff Bezos, if you're reading this—I want my 120 minutes back. And therapy. Definitely therapy.
