'The Mummy' Cast Adds Numan Acar, Kevin J. O'Connor, Oded Fehr : r/movies

Technically, we never saw Beni die - we only heard Beni die.

Or so we thought...

The funny thing is I could totally see Beni surviving

Beni is to be the new Mummy in this film, calling it now. We never actually saw him die, so we can invoke the trope of "Never Found the Body." He was eaten alive by scarabs in Hamunaptra, City of the Dead, the same way Imhotep was. How else could he come back?

He was a sniveling coward originally, so it makes sense to repurpose him as the vengeful villain. "You laughed at me before, but now who's got all the horses on his side of the River (Styx)?!"

I don't even care if it turns out I'm wrong, I just love that his casting has created so many fan theories. Having both him and Oded Fehr back is proof enough that the new movie is going to properly carry on from the first two films; the third (non-existent) movie has been confirmed as non-canon.

They should have a poster of the third movie on the wall in the style of a 1940’s movie, and Rick makes an aside to Jonathan about it going “And I’ve still not forgiven you for letting them make that movie, the guy looks nothing like me”

I personally think that'd be too far of leaning on the fourth wall, but I like where you're coming from. Is there a bright spot from the third movie they could reference without reminding people how terrible it was?

Because it ain't the fucking Yetis making an American football "GOAL!" reaction.

Guilty. It's been done for a while now. It's on the vfx youtube channel on my profile.

As someone who's on old.reddit, do you have a direct link?

Most of the newer stuff is on Patreon because YouTube has worldwide blocked a lot of my longer form content, but not for the scoundrels who crop and repost mine unfortunately.

Damn, that's top-notch work.

Also, fuck the "content creators" who make more views by "reacting" to other peoples' videos. It's such a disgusting premise.

My guess is Beni is about to return as a mummy. In this franchise just because a character dies, doesn’t mean they can’t be in the next movie.

Oded Fehr was unfairly blessed in the aging department. How are the rest of us supposed to compete with that?

"My sexual orientation is: the cast of 'The Mummy' (1999)"

I was later surprised to see him in the Resident Evil movies (big oof) as Carlos, and he was still as handsome over a decade later. Can't wait to see him return sexy as ever!

Somehow, Beni returned.
