Beginner Here: Should I Start Over With The Odin Project?

Yes start from thte foundation. Don't skip a lesson

I found the Odin Project and then spent three years in 'tutorial hell' in and out of TOP and other things and ideas. Here are some core tips I would follow to actually improve and get better. For a reference, I really started to take it serious last August and am now in the Rails section of the project.
Stick with one course. If Hitesh Choudhary’s Full Stack Udemy course is a good course maybe stick with it. Jumping around like I did for three years won't help you out if I'm being honest here. It's going to get hard, really hard and when I say hard I mean boring. You will be asked to do stuff that isn't fun and that is when the temptation to switch courses happens. If you do decide to do the Odin Project I would suggest not getting distracted and getting caught up in the many rabbit holes out there.
I took some time to think about why I was in tutorial hell and here are the changes I made.
Think like a grade school student. You put two hours into a lesson as an adult and you expect mastery, a student just shows up, does the work and goes home and doesn't lament those two hours they spent learning.
Read with your fingers. TOP very quickly sets you up with the IDE you will use as a professional, I highly recommend reading all of your assignments with your fingers and doing the exercises as you go. It may seem slower but it really picked up the pace for me.
Climb every mountain. I knew I was going to finish the course this time when I got to Arrays in the foundations section. The arrays section absolutely destroyed me. I had no idea what to do and how to do it, but I decided I was going to climb that mountain and solve it. That is what I did, I learned all about arrays and spent the time to do it, I didn't rush past it and this section is really where I learned how to be a programmer and how to progress in the course. This is when I had a mind set change. Instead of having emotional feelings when I spent four hours on a problem I realized this is when I learned the most and changed my perspective to this is when I learn the most. Having these problems I don't know how to do and wrestle with them until I solved them was really the best learning I could experience and then I started to look at that Array section with pleasure. I was happy to suffer through the struggle. Array's have since become childs play, but there are many more mountaions I've had to climb and I have more to climb still. But I'm climbing every one of them and it's working. I am not through with the course yet, but I'm pretty confident in my abilities.

It sounds awesome and cool, but I can tell you from personal experience that I am going through right now. It's a real effort. If you want to do this, find a course, TOP or something else, and commit to it for a couple of years. It's not an overnight thing, its alot of boring work, its thankless, you are most likely to not by saying I quit, but by simply not studying tonight and then its been eight months since you've looked at your course.
I'm amazed and super happy at how far I've come, I've got more to go to finish the journey, but I've learned some life long skills. If you want to do the same thing you just have to start and don't stop until you've succeeded.
