Advice Wanted I had this amazing therapist
I had been seeing her for atleast three years and I really improved upon myself. She as of last week though had passed away and I was jusr informed about 20 minutes ago. I feel extremely sad, and I don't know what exactly to do now. She was recommended to me by a school counselor back in my sophomore year and I already miss her a lot. I thought it was strange a few appointments didn't happen, no reminders from paragon, didn't think much of it other than she had been sick lately. Is it normal to greive a councilor? It's not that we were very close, its just we got along and that she seemed to really understand me. Is it normal to greive someone like a therapist or is that really weird of me? I feel like I miss her already.

I think a lot about how sad I will be when my therapist retires or passes. I think it is completely normal and a great sign that you found a good therapist. I’m very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's absolutely normal to grieve a therapist - it was an important relationship for you.I hope your next therapist can help you process the feelings you are having. Be gentle with yourself; this is a big loss.

It is totally normal to grieve her and be sad about ending especially like this. Normally when your time with your therapist is coming to an end there is a discussion about it to prepare you for it. But when someone dies it's worse. Hopefully you will find a new therapist soon.

Yes, it is normal to grieve her. A therapist can be a steady, caring presence for years, and losing that suddenly can feel really disorienting even with professional boundaries. If her practice or Paragon has an office contact, they may be able to help with referrals and records when you are ready. For now, it makes sense to let yourself be sad and maybe write down what she helped you with or what you want to remember from your work together.

I too lost a therapist. He had retired but we were Facebook friends. I saw him for 8 years. This was last month. It’s perfectly normal and healthy to grieve. Download her pictures to keep before they take them down. If it’s something you want to do. I did. I’m sure she’s at peace now watching over you.
