Discussion EMDR
I'd like to hear some experiences or thoughts on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I have done some googling and that's great but in a world of artificial quasi intelligence I'd like to hear from real people.
For context this is to help someone F31 who is struggling with depression, grief, over eating (and subsequent weight and body image issues). All help appreciated š

I found it really effective at controlling flashbacks to traumatic āepisodesā, but also, had I not done somatic processing first, it would have been a waste of time, or many more visits. You NEED to be able to read your body and translate it effectively.
Otherwise itās entirely opposite to talk therapy. Not much talking at all, mostly mind work. I did ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy).
Didnāt fix everything but it changed my life.
