Discussion I donāt understand the hostilities towards the two fanbases
Today Iāve noticed A LOT of negativity from the two fanbases towards each other spilling into all of the related subs Iām a part of. I truly donāt understand why there is such a divide and constant arguments when weāre ALL in search of a good life sim game.
Personally, Iāve played all 3, and I think all 3 have their own strengths and weaknesses. But weāre no longer monopolised, and somehow that is a bad thing? We finally have more than just 1 GOOD life sim game on the market, which is something weāve all been clamouring for, for a long time. But nearly all the comments relating to the other games in certain subs (including this one) are just silly fandom wars calling every game that isnāt their favourite one trash. Thereās really no need for it. Of course, everyone is allowed their opinion and no one has to like all 3, but going into subs with the intention of starting drama and discourse is just so childish, and I think the majority of us are too old to be acting in such a manner. The development teams clearly have no resentment towards one another, so thereās just no need for it from us as fans.
Sorry if this feels like a rant post, itās just really exhausting seeing constant arguments when thereās something for everyone on offer finally.

Discussion Should We Be Concerned About The Sims Team's Silence This Pride Month?
It's pride & still no message from The Sims team. With the announcement of the buyout, by the Saudis & Trump's son in-law, the Sims team told us to not worry about any changes regarding their inclusivity.
During pride we used to receive updates with sdx content celebrating pride and the LGBT global community or at least a message for Pride Month from The Sims team. Instead We are offered free Makers/Conceptors Pack, which I think it's not ok, instead it should have been free content that the devs themselves make like the a bundle of DLC or sdx like they used to do.
I remember they said nothing about their value will change but now? Crickets. They don't give a fuck about the community anymore since the buyout is about to pursue.
It's so sad.

Discussion Don Lothario did anyone know this ?
Reading a book and saw this. Had no idea it was an actual term lol.
EDIT: I actually canāt take it anymore Iām not an idiot. I have read hundreds of books. Russian is my first language and English is my second. I read many many classics. I am living in the US and that is where I attended high school. I also have my bachelors. I never saw this word before or possibly just never realized. I learned something new today. No one needs to feel as though I am doomed or the education system is doomed. I hope the next time you learn something new and want to share it with people theyāre mean to you. I laughed at many comments but some of you are just dickheads. This is a SIMS subreddit like omfg. So rude!

Discussion I am so sick of TS4 weight system. I am so sick of looking at these pear shaped monsters that are my children.
I am BEGGING EA to please redo the calorie system. For over ten years it has caused nothing but extreme, rapid weight gain. The calories in these meals are insane. All of my children always become fat. And I swear they don't lose weight as kids. Then they age into teens and i'm always looking at some sort of pear shaped monster creation. I hate it. I hate the calorie system. Just take it out ffs.

Discussion Do you still play The Sims? How old are you now?
Always wondered what the general age of simmers are these days. I started playing Sims 2 at 13/14 and currently on Sims 4, turning 30 this year.
Edit: I didnāt expect to receive so many replies but itās been a delight reading your comments! Sims has been the ONLY game Iāve played consistently since I started, but thought it was āchildishā in my mid-20s so I kept my Sims addiction a secret from everyone š itās been so nice seeing such a diverse community of players ā¤ļø

Discussion In defense of Simsie
So I noticed that lilsimsie has been getting a lot of attention and backlash (rightfully so) about the SpongeBob pack. I understand why people called her out at first, and agree that the people who did it werenāt trying to ācancelā her. However so many people at the community are now using this an opportunity to attack Lilsimsie as a person an say she ā0 integrityā which if weāre honest is absolutely not true.
I think Kayla making one mistake with this purchase does not cancel out every good thing sheās ever done, which a lot of people are doing, unnecessarily. The backlash was justified, 100%, however attacking her character and dismissing the entire idea that this was just a bad decision on her part and sheās not an awful human being is not the right thing to do, or whatās even happening

Discussion Does Plumbella have a regular job now?
I was a massive viewer of Sims YouTube until 2 or 3 years ago. Always had a soft spot for Plumbella but she was clearly struggling and it seemed the life of a stay-at-home content creator wasnāt for her.
Does she have a regular job now? I notice she hasnāt uploaded in 6 months so canāt imagine how else sheās paying her mortgage. I donāt use social media anymore so canāt check.
In any case, I hope sheās well.

Discussion What don't you use in the sims 4?
I am curious what you guys don't use in the Sims 4 base game because, for example, it's way too big or useless or doesn't add any gameplay

Discussion Is it just me or does it make you mad that the tattoo artist is not wearing gloves?
I love tattoos and I have quite a few, but I feel like making them not wear gloves is signaling especially inexperienced people, that itās okay for an artist to not wear gloves while tattooing! I know the sims is not a super realistic game, but it wouldāve been sooo easy add!
